Since i already had a stock nav that would have most likely already used a stock speed sensor wire intergrated in the "into" car harness, do i still need to hook up the speed sensor wire lead that the avic d3 came with, or can i somehow avoid that and use the existing stock one if any? How?

Also do you know where the back up sensor wire lead goes hooked up on an 02 deville dts? The manual states that it can go in the trunk attached to the wire that activates the back up lights. Does that sound like the easiest place?

The problem you are going to have is that after 1999 the DeVilles went to a Class II Lan BUS system. So all the signals are passed from one Integration Module to another Integration module using bits. So the easier way to install anything is write at the point of "WORK." For example, since the power windows use a Door/Memory Integration module in the drivers door, if you wanted to raise the windows up using a remote control, there are no wires to tap off in the dash. You have to go INTO Each door and tap the wires off inside the door after each door's integration module output.

For reference you have a Seat Integration Module, Dash Integration Module, Antennae Integration Module, Radio Integration Module, Accessories Integration Module, etc.. If it all fails, I can send you the wiring Schematics for a 2004 DeVille and that MIGHT give you an IDEA on where to look etc..

Not absolutely sure, but Cadillac has been using green with a white stripe for VSS for several years, so check for that at the instrument cluster or at the cruise control module. As for reverse, light green at the rear taillight will do it, you can probably find the wire under the driver's door sill in the harness that runs to the rear of the car. Happy hunting....

Speed sense wire is green/white at the cruise control module under the hood.

Reverse wire is light green and can be found at the rear view mirror.

Im sure you could also find it in the harness to the rear of the car, or at the light itself too.
