I am about to install an AVIC-Z2 into a 2008 Ford F-350 SuperDuty. I have the Scosche FDK11B wiring kit. I was going to start wiring up the unit, but I noticed the Scosche FDK11B kit has more wires than the pioneer unit. Do I just not hook those wires up? I also have the audiophile option installed in the truck(factory sub;etc) ..

Any help appreciated!

PS. I did try searching for this before posting, so please don't flame me.

You are about to have a lot of fun! First off, the speed pulse is easy, it is grey/black in the radio harness. If you have steering wheel controls, they can be integrated with a little work and the right adaptor. The fun part comes in when you go to mount the unit in the dash. There is not much room in there, and I have had to trim out the inner dash to make room on a few installs. Never a Z2, but the D3 installs needed more room. You may also need to check the dash kit alignment. Every one I have done I have had to space out the mounting holes and use longer screws to mount the unit in the dash.

My best advice- don't cut it if you don't know what it is, and if you get stuck, ask for a pro's help or even let him finish. With a unit like the Z2, if it is not installed properly, you WILL have problems later on.
