No AM Reception

I just finished installing a D3 in my Toyota Matrix. Everything went well including the bypass. I also installed XM. The Nav, FM and XM works well. However, I have no AM reception at all. I made sure the vehicle's antenna lead was securely plugged in. FM works well but not AM. The antenna is roof mounted. I did not connect the blue wire on the D3 harness. Does this need to be connected? I thought it was for a power antenna. Any suggestions on what to check?

There's still stations that broadcast on AM? And there's still people that listen? That's crazy...

But anyway... Some cars' antennas have factory signal boosters on them, which require the antenna turn-on lead be wired up to them. Check that out.

Explain that in English, because I'm having the same problem. :)

I have the exact same problem in my Audi A4.

My second installer (who fixed up the mess the first guy left) used the METRA-40EU55 antenna adapter. It powers the factory antenna and gives good FM reception, but no AM. I think it may be that there's simply no way to get it connected properly using existing antenna adapters.

In my Audi, the factory antenna cable ends in a little cream-colored plug with *two* RF plugs on it....presumably, one is AM and the other is FM. However, every Metra antenna adapter kit I can find has only one plug on it, so it appears a splitter is needed....not sure what kind of splitter to get, but I don't care about AM anymore, so I'm not bothering.
