Use my Z1 HD in my Laptop

So I have the spare 30GB drive out of my Z1 I want to use in my laptop. I didn't have to go through the whole unlocking deal when I upgraded to the Z2 (and went to a 60GB) but now when I put the drive in my laptop it asks for a PRI password. Is there any way I can somehow blow the whole damn thing away and use it in my laptop without paying the assload of $$$ to unlock it? Maybe boot from some other medium and low-level format it? I have no idea how locking of HDD's work so maybe this isn't a possibility. So if I have to unlock it, whats the cheapest possible way?

$10 to unlock from HDD

That'd be worth it to me.

Hook me up with the 411 if you can. $10 is reasonable.

I saw some of the howto's for the Z1-Z2 they had links for like 40 or something, thats why I just bought the new HD for like $50 and moved on :)

That $40+ is if you want to keep the data intact.

The HDD is an automotive grade HDD. They are pretty expensive. You might be better off selling it and buying a regular laptop HDD.
