okay so i am thinking about getting an avic n seies unit but wanna get the best for my money... so i have a few questions

if i was to combine a different series unit for ex.( n3) with an N1 brain, what would i lose by not having a n3 brain...

also say if i was to use an n1 or n2 unit and n3 brain what am i changing/losising

if you still doing get what im asking im asking what freature or nav feature am i gaining... basically can i buy an older unit and a new nav brain and am i only jus getting new nav menu or am i getting the new features like better xm interfce, ipod adapter ready, xm nav traffic etc. .. thanks guys

The N3 had a better ipod and xm interface than the 1 and 2, but obviously not nearly as good as the N4. I am not sure if that interface chip was in the brain, or the headunit but you would want the N3 part of whichever its in

From what I've read the n3 brain will work with the N1 and N2 unit. Which would be your best bet. The n4 suff is totally different.
