Hey everyone,

First off, thanks to all those posts and replies, great help!

I am having a problem connecting my overhead clarion DVD player with my Avic-D3. The video works like a charm; however, i am not getting any sound. I've connected the audio and video rcas coming from the player.... I'm not sure why I'm not getting sound. Anyone have any ideas or expertise to lend?! Thanks.

The idea is to have the external dvd player so that I do not have to take the map dvd out at all, and this will give me much more options on what player to use (avic or clarion) and how many things can be playing at once (clarion controlling front and back, or just the clarion in the back back, or just the avic in the front).

You connected it to the A/V input? And turned the input on in the menu of the D3?

Yea, that's exactly what I did. Then I turned the Av on to Video...

Hmmm...A/V 1 right?

Also, are you able to test the outputs of the other DVD player on something else, just so you know it is putting out sound?

Yes, AV1. No, I havent tested the external DVD player on another device.... what do you suggest I test it on? preferably without uninstalling it...

A TV or something portable with RCA inputs for sound and video

duh, shoulda figured lol. thanks alot for the response.

BTW, i forgot to mention that I had an fm transmitter installed prior to this, and it's still in there..... but disconnected... could that be the problem?

Thanks again for your help.

Well, i figured it out,... the FM transmitter was disconnect but not completely uninstalled. I took it completely out and now the sound works perfectly. I guess if you wanna get something done right, you gotta do it yourself..... futureshop installers said that it wouldn't work.. proved them wrong!
