I've had an AVIC-D2 in my car since early February and it has operated perfectly until last week. While listening to a MP3 CD I burnt, I noticed it started skipping every so often. The skipping got progessively worse and worse and even occured while the car wasn't moving at all. Eventually my D2 was unable to read the disk at all. I kept getting ERROR-23 and ERROR-12. I thought it was the disk, so I proceeded to put every CD I had in the car into the D2 and it wasn't able to play a single one! The CD's were all MP3 CD's with a few hundred songs on each that had worked flawlessly in the past but now not a single one works. If I try to play them I get ERROR-23.
I also tried burning completely new CD's, resetting the D2, using a different burner, switching CD-R brand, switched my CD burning App and I either get ERROR-23 or it plays the first track and then starts skipping again. However I tried playing some actual music CD's that I had bought in the past (not homemade) and they play flawlessly. However if I try to burn an audio CD from MP3's on my computer and play it in the D2 it still skips badly.
Anyone have any info on whats going on here? Could something with my D2's software/programming be corrupt. Could it be the laser lens? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
