NEX5100 bricked, Please help! — AVIC411 Forum Archive

I force installed 1.11 version update on F970bt/NEX5100 though testmode_a and since then it has started asking for password.
It wont boot into testmode or any developer mode anymore. Have tried different USBs. Even removed the head unit and accessed the internal card but since i couldnt read it, i made a new SD card with F970DAB image file on the Backup forum, It was stuck on boot loop. Please help anyone!

FW updates for 5100/970 are different for each region. it depends on the size of the installed SD card in the device.
5100NEX/UC - 8gb
F970BT/EW5 -16Gb
F970TV/BR - 8Gb

Is there anyway i can get it back to working? I still have have the original SD card with all the original files but it asks for password.
Any way i can get it working?

your card is already damaged
you will not be able to reset the password, since you ruined the section where you store data with a password

you only need to replace the card

Anywhere i can get the F970bt Image file? and then create a new SD card??

Sorry i cannot help. But there are ebay offers for solving your problem. Should be worth a try
