AVIC D3 Requiring a reset

I have a AVIC D3 installed in my 2005 Ford F250 (diesel) pickup. It's been working great for about 2 months. Starting last week, the D3 would "get stuck" on one of the initial screens. The only way to make it responsive would be to hit the reset button. It very quickly (2-3 days) went from once a day to every time I start the truck.

Anyone have any ideas?

This unit was professionally installed and was working great up until last week.

TIA.

I got the same issue, we need a master thread on this. Did you bypass the system?

Not that I know of. It was professionally installed. I haven't done a bypass so I'm guessing not.

I talked to Pioneer today and they want me to send it back for them to figure out what's wrong. It kinda sucks because now I'm going to have a large hole in the dash of my truck until I get it back. :-(

I still haven't sent my unit back to Pioneer. I need my truck too badly at the moment to have it "down" without the head unit.

I also wanted to talk to Pioneer again. The guy I talked to just said to box it up with a description of the problem. No RMA # needed. Hmm. Has anyone else sent a unit back and did they have an RMA #? Every other company I've dealt with won't accept returns for service without an RMA #.

I've also done a bit more diagnosis of the problem. It appears (although it's not 100% reproducible) that when the truck is cold I have the problem vs when it's hot. When it's cold, I have to turn the ignition on and wait for the glow plugs (it's a diesel) to warm up before starting. Since accessory power is turned off when starting, I'm wondering if the unit gets "confused" because it was partially powered up when it gets powered-off and then back on again.

However, it worked correctly when first installed so obviously something isn't working now.
