I have been trying to pair my Cingular/AT & T Treo (GSM) Treo 650 to my Z2 and like many I have been having problems. I can get to to work half way...when I make outbound calls from the phone, the Z2 will pick up the call and play it through the speakers. Inbound calls never get picked up, I can't initiate calls from the Z2 and I can't transfer any contacts. When I try to pair the Treo to the Z2 I always end up with the "connection failed" message...it makes no difference if I initiate the process from the Z2 or from the phone. Also, while I am driving around my phone peridically disconnects and reconnects to the Z2. It's frustrating to be so close to success and not get it to work all the way!

Some people have reported that their Treo 650s work pair up just fine with full functionality. I am wondering if there was any "trick" or something I am missing to get this to work. My phone has the latest firmware updates, Palm isn't issuing any more updates for the 650 as far as I know so I doubt there is some new update that I don't know about.

I am thinking there may be some kind of software conflict causing this...if all else fails I may do a backup and restore my phone to the factory default state and try pairing it at that point to test this theory. Anybody else have any other insight into this? :)

Thanks!

I believe people reported that buying the Jetware software made it work properly. Can't really remember if that was for the 650 or 700 though

Argh...I got excited for a minute thinking another 3rd party app could solve another Treo shortcoming...then I went to the Jetware site and it is for Windows Mobile...and the 650 runs the Palm OS....:(

Thanks though...
