I drive approximately 30,000 miles a year so music and navigation are very important to me. For Christmas, I would like to install the following Radio into my 2005 Cadillac DeVille DHS which currently has the OEM BOSS CD/Cassette Radio(with limited RDS), 6-Disc Glove Box Changer, OnStar, OEM Verizon Onstar Phone, BOSS Amplification System.
AVIC-Z2 Radio with the following accessories
---------------------
- Pioneer Bluetooth Adapter
Pioneer IPOD Interface
Pioneer XM/Traffic Receiver
Pioneer 6 Disc CD Changer
Pioneer Backup Camera
Aux - Audio Input (CB/HAM Radio)
Additional Video Source such a rear DVD/XBOX etc...(Optional)
I am knew to Pioneer, but I had that you can Daisy-chain the accessories without a problem. ![]()
So here are my questions and any solutions that I think might work. Please let me know if I am correct or if you know of a better way to do the same thing.
Does the Z2 show RDS[station ID, Song Title, etc] information if the station broadcasts it?
How does one add MP3(s) from the home computer which are fully IDv2/IDv3, Album image displays onto the headunit? I would like to be able to move my collection to the headunit.
Has anyone in this forum installed this unit on a 2000 - 2004 Cadillac DeVille as they use a GM Class II bus system. I am worried that some of the required hookups (Brake, Pulse Sensor, etc) might actually be encoded Class II Lan system signals instead of normal wire pulses?
I would like the following items to still work when I am done. I have attempted to find adapters to make them work. Please let me know if you found adapters that worked better than these. I am open to any manufacturer or suggestions.
- 1) Steering wheel controls: Volume up/down, tune up/own: [scosche SWC1 Adapter]
2) OnStar Vehicle System/Verizon OEM Car Phone [scosche DCGM19SRB Adapter Kit]
3) Rear Obstruction Sensors, Door, Security Chimes [scosche DCGM19SRB Adapter Kit]
4) BOSS OEM System: [scosche OEA4 or SLC-4 Original Equipment Amplifier Wiring Adapters?]
I can also purchase this Scosche Kit on Ebay at the following URL which seems to solve all of the above questions:
The Radio Volume controls via the SWC1 adapter, but it REQUIRES that radio can be used with an IR remote control. I found one here:
Thanks for your help... ![]()
