Strange hang - only buttons light up, no audio

Self-install a few weeks ago, everything working well.

Getting going after a stop for gas on on the way back home, the Z2 wouldn't start up. I noticed that the buttons at the bottom of the screen remained lit. Pressing the reset button (even holding for 10 sec or so) didn't reboot the unit.

I searched for similar but didn't locate anything.

Thoughts???

TIA

More info:

Tried pulling the fuse that protects the always-on +12V - blue button lights went out (good) - left the fuse out for 15 minutes and replaced. This did not reset the unit either.

I notice that when the key is in ACC or ON, the Z2's ventilation fan is operating - so that's good.

Pioneer says that my Z2 is dead and needs to be repaired or replaced. Must be a QA thing - only three weeks old

...glad I didn't sell the stock head unit....

Thanks for the suggestion. Because it won'tboot, there's no way to even flip down the display to load a CD/DVD.

...on it's way to Pioneer.
