Just installed my D3 today and went out for sushi earlier tonight so I figured I'd put the GPS to test.

It said my current location was a friends house 5 miles away where I had my navi installed with his help.

Antenna is is on top of the dash board. Wouldn't see why reception would be a problem. DVD disc was in.

Anyone else experience the same problem and have a solution?

TIA.

Did you mount the antenna on that little metal square? And are you sure it didn't come unplugged by accident?

In the navi menu, go to hardware info and connection status. How many sats are lit up when you are out in the open?

3 :?

Just took it apart again to find a solution. Drove it around the block for a little to see if it would update.

Nothing, location still remains the buddy's house. :(

You should be getting 7-8 sats when out in the open, so try a different antenna location. Or maybe you got a bad antenna or it the wire got damaged during installation

I was thinking the same thing.

Took it apart for second time last night to slap some tape on there so I could make sure it didn't pop out. Lost a screw in the process :x

Thanks for help bud. Appreciate it!
