Ok, fellas I need some help. I will be putting a AVIC z1 in my 2006 lincoln navigator with the bluetooth, ipod adapter and sirius. Also putting a flip down DVD screen in the roof. Who has done this? I need the easiest way to drop the headliner(if needed) to install the screen and also where you hooked up your wires. I bought a wiring diagram book and should be recieving it soon. I will start this project maybe next weekend. Any help is appreciated. I will post pics of my NAVI after install.

So what exactly needs to be done? I am all up for the most simple way!!! I appreciate any help you can give misfit! I have the install kit for the headunit on the way, and also two swi-ps for steering wheel control retention and rear control's. The flip down monitor is a legacy and it included a metal braket for mounting.

you cut a hole in the headliner a little smaller then the mounting bracket for the dvd. slide a thin piece of plywood with a hole cut in the middle of it up in the headliner through the sunroof opening. put two short screwa through the headliner into the plywood right at the edge of the opening of the hole in the headliner. now screw the dvd mounting plate to the plywood.( again use short screws) run your wires through the hole in the plywood and mount dvd to mounting plate.

AH, Sounds a lot easier then what I was thinking. I guess I will run the wires down the passenger side door jamb. I will also be installing a back-up camera and a infinity basslink sub in the rear on the right side. I will also leave the stock 8" sub. Question. When wiring this unit up, Since the headunit is amplified, I dont have to bypass the stock amps do I? I don't know if the door speakers have an amp installed for them. I'm sorry for racking your brain but I am looking to get this installed in one day and want all of my homework done before hand. I hope to get started on it wednesday, maybe even as early as tuesday.
