THEY WILL PROBABLY TELL YOU THAT THEY WOULD WANT TO PUT IT IN FOR YOU BUT YOU PROBABLY WANT TO GO TO RESPECTABLE SHOP TO DO IT. NOTHING BAD ABOUT ANYONE THAT WOULD WORK AT ANYONE OF THOSE WHO WORK THERE BUT I HAVE TO FIX ALOT OF THEY'RE SCREW UPS. BUT GOING TO A RESPECTABLE SHOPS WOULD HELP YOU ALITTLE BETTER IN DO IT YOURSELF SET UP
YOU CAN ALSO GO TO METRAONLINE.COM TO LOOK UP WHAT THE DASH KIT WOULD LOOK LIKE. GO THREW THE LOOK UP MY APPLICATION AND GO THREW AND LOOK AT THE KITS AND THEY HAVE A PDF THAT SHOWS WHAT THE KIT LOOKS LIKE AND HOW TO INSTALL IT.
okay so im assuming there are diffrent kits, because ive seen some people with the cts and they have a aftermarket nav and they lost theyre display screen under the vents, i want to keep that
i might just pay to have it put in if this is going to be a big pain in the ass because i know how gm is with the radios and what not and how they transmit the keyless entry through the radio ect, i wonder how much tweeter charges to put it in
LIKE I SAID, AND ON MY PROFILE, I WORK IN A LOCAL SHOP. I WOULD GO TO A LOCAL RESPECTABLE SHOP, THEY WILL PROBABLY CHARGE LESS THEN TWEETER AND BEST BUY WOULD. THEY WILL DO A BETTER JOB TOO. I HAVE TO FIX THEY'RE SHOTTY WORK ALL THE TIME. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LOCAL SHOP THEN YEAH TWEETER WOULD BE THE ONE TO GO TO. ALL THE BIG PLACES HAVE KIDS JUST OUT OF SCHOOL OR JUST LEARNING WHAT TO DO. ON A CADDY, I WOULDN'T HAVE THEM TOUCH IT. BUT THAT IS JUST ME. HERE IN CT THEY ARE REALLY BAD, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE FROM
the tweeter near me does pretty good installs, they did my altima speakers a couple other things and did a pretty clean install no problems, circuit city is another story

GhostDeany,
just curious...do you belong to cadillacforums.com?
that would be me, why, are you over there?
How does the PAC OS2-CTS work? And where did you tap into the VSS and reverse wires???
VSS-Brown at the Radio, Speedometer, or at the rear integration unit at the passengers side rear deck...
PAC OS2CTS
Reverse is at LR fuse block under rear seat -lt. green
I have done about 4 of these cars now that being said on 2 of them I had to use a wheel speed sensor and the other were exactly where I told u they were.
THIS IS NOT AN EASY CAR TO DO ITS A PAIN ITS A CADDY .......
U WILL NEED A GOOD INSTALLER THAT DOES THIS FOR MORE THAN JUS HOURLY LOW WAGE! GOOD LUCK IF U CHOOSE TO EXCEPT THIS MISSON
I just had a local shop (very good, very good reputation) put a D3 in my wife's 04 CTS. It works very well and looks great in the dash. They could not keep the DIC with the install. Looking at the OE unit that came out, I understand why. I don't know the degree of difficulty doing it yourself, but if you have a good shop do it, you will be happy with the results in a CTS.
finished mine back in nov, i chose to do most of it myself and not pay someone the rediculous prices ive heard it would take to get it done.
took me almost all weekend to cut out that space and mount the d3, i wanted everything to be cut as perfect as possible, alot of filing to get it smooth ect. i had my buddy who works at a local shop wire it up for it, it was weird because at first, the unit was on all the time even with the key out, so he had to tap into this wire and that wire. another weird thing, is that you can control the volume with the d3 knob, as well as the factory radio knobs as well, and the steering wheel knob still works also. all in all i paid 100 for the metra harness and gave him 60 bucks to wire it for me.
I know u saved money which is good but when it has a problem like lets say getting stuck in new yourk or not switching from your ipod to map or not goin out of map at all.U can bring it somewhere and say fix it.All in all good job though...
what do you mean? ive had the avic d3 for pretty much 1 year and never had any of those problems.
Dont worry about it then.I work at a store that does alot of volume in nav and its been a common problem with some but not all.I have had mine for about a year also and my d3 is fine I was jus giving u the heads up on it if it does tart to happen then u have an idea of what it is thats all.
