Will the CD-UB100 and AVIC-D3 work with the iPhone?

I only have an iPhone (no other iPod). I want to hook that into an AVIC-D3 that I will be purchasing shortly, connecting it over the CD-UB100. Just wanted to make sure it would plug right in and go

USB works like crap with the D3. Just get the CDI200 ipod cable

Thats actually what I was asking, if the CDI200 works with the iPhone without issue.
