Why can't i get the navigation to use its voice guidance? I've read the manual and played around with it and say if i start a route to "go home" it will show me instructions on the screen but will not say them to me.

I even muted it and tried it. The only option i saw regarding "voice command" was in the volume section where it said to have voice command on while muted.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the voice guidance volume and make sure it is turned up?

The voice guidance is 3 notches away from being at max volume.

I never installed the original navigation disk because it didnt come with one on ebay.

So i bought the upgrade disks. Will buying the original disks solve this problem?

The voice just comes out the front channels. I'm guessing you have an amp installed, maybe using the rear preouts only.

I dont have an amp hooked up. It is all stock.

All of the rca jacks are unhooked. and only the wiring harness is connected. Do i need the rca's hooked up to hear the voice guidance?

I listen to music fine without them hooked up.

Is it normal for my exact location to be 1.1 miles off course since the d3 is still in learning mode? Or is that because the vss wire isnt connected properly?

Before we go any further, what kind of vehicle is it?
