Loading DVDs

Hey Guys,

I just ordered the Toshiba MK6034GAX 60GB Hard Drive to put the Z2 image on and expand the music partition for my Pioneer Z1. Then load the firmware update for the Z2. I will follow the instructions on other threads in order to complete those items.

However, since I don't need to unlock the new Toshiba drive and from what I've read it's possible to connect the Toshiba drive to your computer via a USB connection, I wanted to see if I could load some DVDs and/or music to the hard drive while it's connected to my computer.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Duke

No I haven't finished anything. The HD is in the mail on it's way to me. My big thing is to have the updated z2 features. I was just hoping to kill multiple birds with one very large stone.

Any info on why we can't load data to the hard drive directly and have the Z2 hardware read it?

The applications only look for media in their pre-defined database locations. We don't have a good enough understanding of the database to add music to it, and there is no process in place to read video_ts files from the hard drive.
