I constantly notice that where i am, and where my navigation says i am is off. It seems to lag behind. When coming to a turn, i reach the street way before the navigation realizes. It slowly adjusts but never is quite right. Any suggestions? I know the D3 is not good for navigation, (routes are off, bad searches) anything i can do?

make sure your vss is hooked up and your antenna has clear view of the sky

the antena is on the dashboard, and would the navigation be able to see where i was at all if the VSS wasnt hooked up?

yes. go into settigs>hardware info>connection status. and make sure the speed pulse numbers go up as you go faster. if not, then its not hooked up

Search the net for your car and "vss wire" and you will find the correct wire and location to tap into. The VSS makes vehicle position much more accurate. It'll still be slow at times, but you'll notice an improvement.

You can also adjust your nav arrow . I think its called ( current location ) button . You can use it to move your arrow forward so it will arrive at the intersection when you do . It helps to zoom all the way in before making this adjustment .
