has anyone ever seperated the screen from any of the n-models. I want to mold the screen into my dash instead of having it fold out

your problem here will be finding a ribbon cable to extend the screen being farther away from the head unit, you can set it to not oopen and close so thats not a problem. if you want to do this you may just look into a d3 or something that does not have a flip out.

anything is possible and someone has to try it the first time.

hey thanks for the response. the d3 is cool but its too deep for where i want to install it. I might just order a new ribbon and see if i can butcher it up and extend it

i was told that by extendingthe wires from the screen that i would mess up the resolution touch screen functions. is this true?

your in new territory so your kinda on your own, but anytime you lengthen any cable there is always going to be signal loss of some time, usually this happens over pretty decent long runs, but i guess it could happen on this too being the signal isnt that strong to begin with.
