d3 trouble in RSX (no audio)

I have a couple of questions. I just started trying to install mine and I am having a couple of problems. I got the navigation to work and it is great so far. But the audio seems to not be working for some reason. As far as I see, I have connected all wires correctly and securely. But I am thinking the problem might be coming from by attempt at bypassing the parking break. I pulled out the mute wire, inserted it in the hold above and attached it to the ground wire. I was thinking that the audio problem might be from me not pushing the mute wire in the upper slot far enough. My questions are:

-If that relocated mute wire isnt making contact with the HU, would that cause my audio to not play?

-I am using a metra wiring harness for the type s w/ bose system. Does anyone know which speakers the violet, green, grey and white plugs go to (front/rear left/right speakiers)? I have misplaced my metra wiring diagram.

-Trying to track down the source of my audio problem further, the cables wires I have from the d3 that are attached to my metra wiring harness (and keeping the bose components intact) are battery (yellow), ground (black), ill (orange & white), 12 volt power (red). I didn't list the 4 plugs for the speakers, but am I missing anything? I have a solid orange wire and a gray/white wire for 'amp turn on' hanging free.

Thanks in advance.

Bold part is the reason you don't have sound. The amp turnon wire must be hooked up to the blue/white wire of your avic. Wire colors for speakers are as follows

white LF+

white/black LF-

gray RF+

gray/black RF-

green LR+

green/black LR-

purple RR+

purple RR-

Thanks! I thought it was suspicious that it wasn't attached to anything but I didn't look beyond color matching. Another question regarding colors, on the avic, orange/white is "illumination". Right now I have the avic orange/white attached to my wiring harness orange/white, labeled as "dimmer". But my wiring harness also has an orange hanging free labeled as "illumination". When I hooked up my avic it lit up nice and brightly, but the light didn't change when if I turned my headlights on/off. So stupid question probably, but should I set the orange/white on avic with the orange of my wiring harness since they are both labeled illumination?

Lastly, the connection on my mute wire that I relocated for bypass is a bit mangled. How essential is it that I have it pressed back down into the plastic part of the avic harness nice and flush? Does it still actually have an electrical connection with the HU even though there was no wire there originally?

Sorry, Im an audio newbie.

yes it needs an electrical connection otherwise you won't have a bypass.
