My Z1 with I-pod adapter and someday when they are available bluetooth is being installed today with Eclipse components up front and Eclipse Point Source in the rear with a Eclipse 5 channel amp and JL Audio sub. I have a three hour drive this weekend to Long Island and I can't wait to screw around with the Z1.
Any last minute advice for the install?
Don't let them try to bypass your Z1 by just grounding the parking brake wire. It won't work and you will end up with a nag screen about it every time you power up your car.
The only way to bypass the Z1 is either with one of my circuits, programming 2 PAC TR7's or manually flashing the lights when you start the car.
A lot of people have trouble with the installers not hooking up the ILLUMINATION wire so turning on the headlights won't dim the screen (and you can't manually bypass the lockouts). Make sure they hook that up.
Also make sure they find your VSS wire. Some shops won't bother.
The VSS and ILL wires (on some cars) can be hard to find and some people have emailed me and told me the installer got "lazy" or couldn't find those wires so they just left them off. If you are paying for the install make sure they do all the connections.
