My XM radio plays fine when i'm in the xm screen, but when I go to the XM status under the information menu it says not connected and no signal and the stocks option is not highlighted so I can't get any of that information. any ideas?
Do you have the GEX-P10XMT? And if yes, did you connect the data cable? Do you subscribe to the NavTraffic service?
If you answered NO to any question, you found your problem
Is it playing all channels OK?
I know when I set mine up it had a few free XM channels and the signal strength did not show up. When I called them with a new radio code to transfer my service from my GM Delco Bose, only then did I get signal strength, etc.
no i do not have the one with navtraffic. but shouldn't i still be able to get stock info, etc? I could get it on my old external unit just fine with the same subscription.
Nope. And thats why it says no signal also. That info comes through the data cable

I bought a refurb unit, connected it up, works great, ALL channels.
Same thing no signal, acts like it is not connected as far as "properties")signal etc go.
It is the navtraffic unit, I have NO subscription.
Since it all works I assume it is hooked up correct, and since it is free I couldn't careless it says no signal... When it stops working and I have to pay, thats when I will worry.
I have read a few things about people getting a unit and it staying on for long periods of time, I also read it is a 3 month trial, but I can't see it working for 3 months for free without any of my info. My thought is since it is a refurb, it was never turned off, but they will eventually kill it.

Above is the same issue I am having now. It works fine and shows in my source menu, but I am not able to see the status it acts like it doesn't have XM attached. I removed all other devices and had it first and only and it still does it.
I cant view stocks or see traffic data oh and yes I did activate the unit. What could be the issue? There was mention of a Data plug but I dont think I use that with myZ2. So do I have a bad unit?
If there is a data plug then hook the cable up. If it still doesnt work then reset the unit.
