Ok guys i have been using the navi for a week now and it seems to take me the long way to my destination. Tonight i was going home and it said it was 17 miles, i made a turn and after it recalibrated it was 6.1 miles, whats up with that, do i have a setting wrong or something, had it set to 1 route and shortest distance. Avoiding everything is off.

The same thing happen to me today. It took me the most backwards way you could think of. I also would love to know the answer.

If you go into the route options mode and select multiple routes, the system will let you choose the route you want to take. It will give you five or six different options. If you are familiar with the area, simply pick the shortest route and you should be all set. I was having similar problems and this seems to work for me.
