Hey everyone,

Thanks to this forum, I have successfully installed a D3 in my car..

I would post the pictures and info here, but, I have this on 3 other forums..

Any questions or comments, please email me:

I did everything but install the VSS.. The unit works fine without it, and, it would have been a major PITA to route the wire..

Enjoy.

And thanks for the forum!

Just curious! But your stock radio harness didn't have an illumination wire to connect to instead of having to tap into the dimmer switch?

The "crutchfield" harness that plugs into the factory harness has an illumination wire... However, the ford harness does not have that same illumination wire.

I've heard of different ways to connect the illumination wire, but going to the headlight switched seemed to be the easiest..

Nice write-up and photo's. I installed the D3 in my cobalt and connected the back-up camera and IPod cable. I did a very similar install to you as I connected the D3 to the factory Pioneer Amp and speakers and Sub. And I have also noticed that the system sounds better and louder with the D3 installed.
