A buddy of mine saw my D3 in my truck and really likes it. He looked at getting one for his 98 Navigator, but says that it won't fit. I looked on crutchfield's fit guide and it says the same. Is there any reason that it doesn't fit? I thought as long as the opening was double din it would work fine. I've seen a couple of posts here of people that say they have them in their 98 Navigators. Are there any modifications that need to be done??

a fair amount of cutting will be involved. It can be and has been done.

That being said, are there any instructions on how this is done, or at least some pics of what it looks like? I'm pretty capable and probably be the one to install it.

No real directions as far as cutting goes. Get a 99-5805 and start trimming everything til it fits.
