Ok well i just installed my AVIC D3 and hooked up my semi new Ipod classic (I think its the newest version 80gb) andyways my ipod doesnt register it. Its either it doesnt read it or my cable came undone when i tried to jam it in its mounting position.

Any ideas?

Do you have the latest update on your iPod? If so, I would then try and find someone with a 5th generation iPod to see if it's the cable or not. If I remember correctly, it's really hard to unplug the cable accidently.

WHat if its not the cable?

Most likely it is the cable since it doesn't sound like you have trouble syncing your iPod, but you never know.

When you plug in your ipod, does anything change on the screen of your ipod? If not, the other end of the plug probably isn't plugged into the back of the D3
