Yes. I use a 4th gen iPod touch that is permanently in my car and I can run navfree or igo primo whilst playing music from the same iPod. You can also listen to the radio as well whilst running a sat nav app. Just double press the middle home button on the radio unit and then change the mix to radio (it always defaults to off).
Hope this helps

No adapter from 30pin to Lightning will allow you A/V and App Mode. You have to use the appropriate cables for a lightning device. You can use an adapter for audio only you will loose video and App Mode.
Thank you

Can I ask a silly question please? My app radio 2 was installed when I had my iPhone 4S. I'm currently using an iPod that sits permanently in the car but I've now got a 5s.
Are there any cables/adapters/extensions that would take the existing 30pin cable coming from the app radio , that can plug into my new iPhone 5s?
Or do I need to remove the App radio unit and use some diff cables as well? Just trying to see if there's anything I can do myself very simply (if it involves removing the unit, i get someone else to do it! !)

Also I shd add my comment referred to the app radio 2

Or if playing the radio, once the sat nav app starts up, double click the home button and then select MIX radio.

I've just poped to my car and booted up waze. In settings scroll right to very bottom where it's "external device". That worked for me and now have the waze app on my pioneer screen.
Will dl nav free to use as an interim whilst they sort out igo. Ta!

Thanks - will check later. I bought my unit in May 2013 and a great guy at Halfords installed it and he mentioned about updating the unit before he installed it, so hopefully it has latest.
Also i downloaded waze last night but when I select waze from the app radio itself i also just get the blue screen. Waze just loads into the iPod. I had used waze on an older iPhone but that was when I first got the unit installed so was prob in an older version.
Ah well, so I have 2 satnav apps that don't work with the app radio *sigh*

Ta. I also have an iPod touch permanantly sited in my car and have been using igo primo but since the last update, it just crashes all the time (the amount I spent in total on the app and AppRadio connection, I've asked for a refund!). Hence why I thought about waze as an alternative.
Yes the software version, although as I've got AppRadio 2 not sure if it runs the same software?

Silly question but will waze work as the iPod touch 4th gen doesn't have a 3G signal to stream the maps? I'll try it on mine (appradio 2 & iPod touch 4th gen) over weekend and see if I have any issues.
Just one other a - how do you know what version of the pioneer app radio you have??

OK, as the GPS was not connecting successfully on my 4th gen ipod touch with my appradio 2, i thought i'd buy a cheap iPhone 3GS.
BUT whilst the music works, obviously the apps do not.
Am i correct in thinking that if i jailbreak the 3gs, and install Appradio Extensions (and poss some other bits!), i could run igo primo and some other apps via the AR2?
If not, i'll sell the 3gs and look at Plan C (not that i have a plan B or C!)
In essence, i have an iPhone 5S but my AppRadio 2 was installed when i had my 4S, hence has the 30 pin connector. But i simply wanted a device i could keep in my car that was always connected to the AR2, to use for music and sat nav. I bought an iPod touch 4th gen,but it very rarely finds GPS when connected to the AR2, despite me force closing apps, rebooting etc etc
Any advice gratefully received

Hi oneyozfest182 - i'm about to jb my iPod touch 4th gen, simply so i don't have to keep pressing "ALLOW" on the touch once it's connected! So once i have installed all of the necessary apps that are detailed on post 1, i also then find Activator in Cydia, and install that.My iPhone 4s is running iOS 6.1.2 with AppEx and Activator installed. I have an iPhone 5s and my 4s is just hooked up to my car and tucked away used for navigation & music. I almost never have to touch my phone. I achieve this using Activator with the following settings:
Activator > Connected to Power > Unlock & Launch AppRadio.appActivator > Disconnected from Power > Pause Music & Lock Phone
I assume i then boot up Activator on the ipod, and it's within the Activator settings that i ensure the above 2 instructions are set? Is that right?
Many thanks - i only use my touch for music and sat nav (have igo primo installed).

Reset the iPod. If that doesn't work do a complete restore of the iPod.
Thnks - will give that a go

OK,I have the AP2 (DA100) and have successfully connected this via bluetooth to my 4S, and have an iPod 4th gen permanently sited in my car via the cable.
I am running ios6 on the touch and mainly use the igo primo sat nav app.
Last week, i decided to jailbreak the iPod, and had a play around with it outside of the AR2 but decided i just liked the fact i could use the igo on the AR2 via my iPod.
So i restored the iPod via iTunes (thus the jailbreak has gone), and decided to connect it back to the AR2.
I reinstalled the pioneer app and IGO onto the iPod and connected to AR2.
BUT when i select APPS icon on the AR2, it only displays the stock Apple apps (Calendar, Maps, Photos). No Igo Primo logo appears on my AR2 display.
If i go the iPod's home screen, and select igo from the iPod, it does then appear on the AR2 display and all works fine.
SO, how do i get the igo icon to appear back on my AR2 display please? It does all work, it's just a pain having to select the igo app from my iPod instead?
Many thanks

I tried a 2nd gen touch and that wasn't supported i'm afraid. And yes, it uses the gps antenna on the appradio
