  1. Now that the iPhone can mirror without wifi to the AppleTV I'm wondering if I should stick that in my car so I can have wireless mirroring.

My deck (AVH-X8500BHS) would still detect a HDMI connection

The deck will still detect the bluetooth connection from the iPhone

I'd still be stuck having the only touch enabled apps being AppRadio apps but at least I would have the ability to use it completely wirelessly.  I think I'll try this tomorrow and report back.

  2. I can't get you tube to work and siri knows whenever I am in motion has well,  We used a tr7 to bypass the video and I got that to work with video's on my ipod classic but the head unit will not support any applications really I use an app called plex which is basically a server that has all my movies on it from home it worked fine on my old 3300.  I have the app mode cord and no matter what i do I still can't get you tube to work I tried going in through car web browser but Opera does not support you tube either.  I just want to be able to stream movies from plex,  what's even weirder is that I get audio but no video I can see it playing on my phone but not on the screen.

What Model of iPhone are you using?    If you're using an iPhone 5 you'll need the Lighting to Digital AV adapter and then hook an HDMI cable to the adapter as well as a lightning cable from the adapter to USB1 on the unit.

  3. the above worked perfected for me as well.  Now I'm tring to figure out how to listen to satellite radio or music while in appradio mode to mirror or using one of the compapitble nav apps.  If I just mirror i can use my ipod function in the iphone 5 and google maps, but I still can't figure out how to listen to siriusXM while mirroring, etc.  Maybe it's not possible.....

Unless you the SirusXM app I don't think you'll be able to listen to SiriusXM at the same time you're in App Mode.  Hopefully this is something Pioneer could fix with a firmware update?

  4. I had a 'regular' bypass that I had used for a Sony XAV-602BT that was just a relay.   Initially when I got a AVH-8500BHS I used my old bypass and put a switch on it so I could flip it the second time.  Ended up installing a Microbypass last week.   It's such a small convenient package I couldn't justify building my own.
