  1. For those of you that are having reboot issues AFTER an attempted upgrade, I may have the solution. Some antivirus programs are removing all or most of the exe files (like video.exe, av.exe, and m*.exe (can't remember the exact name). They will also possibly remove copytool.exe from testmode. If you try to boot into testmode, and get a notification "cannot find copytool.exe", that is a sure sign that your antivirus proggy swallowed some files. Look in quarantine! It was very frustrating to say the least!

So far, fx3.1 has been the best as far as stability goes (for me at least). I always start by dismounting, removing partition, formatting, then re-creating the part00 partition, then moving the files back to the my flash disk, and then if that doesnt work, then updating wince. Most of the time, this is not needed. Just MAKE SURE THE exe files are in the my flash disk folder. Could save you HOURS of banging your head against the wall! Lastly, if your unit crashes, and when u look at the mfd folder and see it is all garbled squares and hieroglyphics, you only need to restore that drive/folder, BUT you have to go into system drive manager in control panel, and dismount, delete and reformat, as it will not allow you to delete!

    Good luck!

PS for those who hate on the AVIC line, tell me another system that lets you do, fix, and play the way a windows based head unit does. The advantages truly outweigh the negatives.

    Hello,

    Thank your for your post.

I'm not hating AVIC but seems I will.

Actually I've downloaded frimware 2.008 for my F7010BT to get the advantages of the new version. BUT after the installation, system stuck to " system startup is processing.. please wait" and keep rebooting.

Can you please help for this ?

    Thank you.

  2. Hi all;

I just was giving my bosses truck is has this radio in it. There has never been an issue with the radio until just recently. When the truck turns on the radio boots up to the main screen. On the bottom on the main screen in a pop-up box reading "System startup in progress. Please Wait". This box will stay on the entire time the truck is on. I can get to the radio and play music but then after about 1-2minutes the whole radio reboots. On the main screen I can get into the settings and the phone BUT when I try to get to the navigation it gets STUCK on the click OK to accept screen.... My guess is that something with the GPS/Navi is screwed up and the whole unit is trying to start it self up, can't get there so it reboots and tries again. I have tried pushing the little button on the face to reset but nothing changes. Has this happened to anyone else or a different model similar problem? What can i try to do to resolve it? THANK YOU!!!!

Hi, did you fix this issue ????  im facing the same after installing firmware 2.008. please help.

  3. Hey guys,

i am an installer, and a customer gave me a f700bt that he tried to update to 2.008 off the pioneer website, unit would boot but would give the ezrider error, and system loading, i have gotten the unit into test mode and have windows ce up ( updated the windows ce from the 2.006 update off pioneer site), does anyone have a 2.000 back up i could get, or is there a trick to using the files from a 2.006 update on pioneers website and load to the my flash disk.

    any help is greatly appreciated

Hello my frind, I face the same issue with my F7010bt , how we can get back to 2.00? ???  please help aabuelaish@gmail.com

  4. Sounds like you made a mess of your system. From your description, it sounds like it was the semi typical issue with a corrupt GpsParaX.bin (X=0-3) file. The normal solution to that is to delete the 4 GpsParaX.bin files.

Where you really blew it was most likely trying to do the 3.1 install.

I've noticed that if the version of Windows CE is different between the background windows (done through service menu) and the one on the flash drive you can experience weird issues at times and it will work fine at other times.

I have all the files to restore the F700 to version 2.0. I just need an e-mail address to set you up to be able to download it since it is at a commercial online backup site that uses e-mail addresses as a the user ID and sets permissions from there. The files are not something that can be e-mailed as they are about 1.7Gb for the full image.

Basically, you need to download the files I can share and the V2.3 test mode files and put them on a SD Card (card needs to be at least 2Gb).

    1. Insert SD card into AVIC and turn it on.

    2. When the pioneer logo comes up, press and hold the menu, map, eject and the reset buttons at the same time. When your screen goes completely blank, let go of the reset button but continue to hold menu, map, and eject buttons. This will bring you to a blue screen, telling you to reset the unit (ignore this), you will have to enter the service combination. Press the volume knob in this sequence and you will see * signs for each push: Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right.

    3. Select Wince Upgrade

    4. Select Update SD Format

    5. Wait until it says restart in the bottom center. Reset the unit and leave the SD card in.

    6. You should be greeted with testmode (It will look very similar to normal windows). Open Explorer and copy the contents of the "F700" Folder from the SD card to the "My Flash Drive" that is located on the unit. Overwrite everything. Except for the test mode files/folder (It will say the copying will take 140min but will only take about 20)

    Hello.
