A simple solution to this problem is using a relay that tricks the unit into thinking the care brake is up. I use this relay setup daily at my shop if interested let me know. It's full proof and doesn't damage the head unit. Forget the extra pin above the yellow and black wire and forget grounding the light green it doesn't work my relay does

I used Jeff's mod on my X950BH and it worked just fine. Only prompt I get is the unit telling me that it detected my parking brake wired inccorectly. It's not an issue because I can still watch movies while in motion as well as input addresses into the GPS.

 

Now I'm not sure if iI'm reading your post correctly, epsilonkore, but you're supposed to do one of two things for the mod to work . . .

 

1) Take the Yellow Mute Wire and move it over to the left one spot (where Jeff has the green wire). Then ground the green parking wire and the nearly switched yellow mute wire.

 

OR

 

2) Do what Jeff did and add a wire to the left of the Yellow mute wire. Then ground the new wire you placed along with the green brake wire. Make sure you leave the unmoved yellow mute wire disconnected. You do not connect this to anything since you've added a wire to replace it.
