Special characters (used in Languages like German, Italian, French, e.g. 'äöüß') are now displayed in the Radio RDS display. The old firmware always displayed a blank instead of the character.

I reported this bug to Pioneer in July and it was fixed with 1.0.6.

I did update my NEX 4000 with an SD-Card (took about 8 minutes). If you have an empty SD-Card you could give it a try. Maybe this works...

Does anybody know if it is possible to flash this firmware on a European unit? (I have a AVH-X8600BT which is just a renamed AVIC-4000NEX).

The current version of the page states, that it is available right now.

They removed the hint to "Autumn" on the European page:

But no new files in the download section

The funniest thing is their #AppRadioModeRocks campaign.

First 'early summer', then 'summer' and now more or less 'end of summer'?

This is going the be a very looooooooooong summer.

From one Car Play demo I've seen, it looks like it automatically starts when you attach the iPhone to a Car Play enabled radio.
So I think it has not to be started from the iPhone and therefore doesn't need an icon.

Can't remember myself having reloaded a webpage as often as the Pioneer page in the last days.  Yes I know it takes as long as it takes, but I'm awaiting the update eagerly.Really. I'm going nuts...

All the links lead to "404 - Page not found" ???

The posts sound somehow ironic, so I assume this is some kind of hoax?
