  1. I have a 2013 Toyota Highlander, brand new Pioneer AVIC-8201 NEX.  using a Maestro RR as integration harness. sometimes when I remote start my car, and I get into my car, the radio has a black screen. basically it is not on, and nothing functions. Pioneer had claimed it was defective, got a brand new one and it did the same thing on the second day!!! leads me to believe that it cannot be the radio.

I have a theory on what may be wrong, when remote start activates, the ignition comes on, radio starts boot up, then ACC wiring drops out as car is cranking, radio has to reboot again, I think this causes the radio to not boot up properly. what do you think about this? anyone experience a similiar problem?

  2. they can't go back to XM nav traffic, this unit is lacking a small square connector on the back of the unit that the d3 had on it for nav traffic, the z110bt doesnt have it. i upgraded from a d3 to this z100bt, and really i dont think it is that much better than the d3. i expected a little bit more. this unit can't even control a cd changer! i know that may be a tiny bit in the past, but they still sell changers, and we all know for real audio enthisiaths, that the ipod sound quality, is the pits compared to a CD!

  3. i recently am having issues with my avic-d3, i get a black screen, and the message says "there is some problem with the dvd drive", radio and xm still work but no map. also while driveing sometimes unit resets, similar to first starting the car. anyone ever seen something similar to my description? also for the record, my map discs are dual layered copies of the originals. please help, any info will be appriciated.

  4. i have a customer that bought a used car and it has a kenwood excelon model kdc-x815, cd reciever, but it displays code, ken wood directed me to a local kenwood dealer, and he want 60 bucks to reset it, does any one have any info on this? i would appretiate any help on this matter.

  5. ok, but why would you not want it on when u reverse? follow me for a second here, if your not looking at the screen when u go in reverse, your looking in the mirrors on your blind spots, you dont necessarily have to look at the screen. as far as at will you push the map button then hit rear view when ever you want. that's what i do, and everyone who's unit i installed do when they want to see whats behind them.
