  1. Quick update, +1 day since the incident occurance and the unit has been fine ever since. I will be pulling it out over the next day or 2 to install an HDMI cable for app radio purposes, and will reseat the GPS antenna wire at that time. Crossing my fingers it continues to be ok. One more error like this and its getting exchanged.
  2. This morning when it happened, I hadn't tried the hard reset, so the clock was still accurate from yesterday when it was still able to 'see' the GPS hardware. It did say "autodetecting gps receiver" my entire commute in, and when I dug into the settings of the GPS, I remember the first line said something like "GPS Status" and the status was "NOK" (assuming to mean NOT OK). Got to work, turned off the ignition. Start the car back and and everything seemed ok. It said "searching for GPS signal" at the top instead of "autodetecting gps receiver" but I was in the parking deck so that made
  3. I'll double check all my connections, and unseat / reseat the GPS antenna (I had to pull the unit out anyway to install a newly acquired ultra thin HDMI cable). I didn't try the hard reset, but I'll do that if the above didn't change anything. So far it was a one off occurance but I've only started the car twice since I had the issue (once this morning, issue present, then got to work... shut the car off then back on to see ...and it was ok).
  4. I did. And everything was working fine from last Friday through Monday when I got home. Woke up this morning, started up the car and got that error. I've installed all my own stereos, car auto starters etc for the past almost 20 years, so this isn't my first time through the process. The install went smooth and up until today, everything was fine.
  5. Thanks, that was my feeling. I was just wondering if it happened to anyone else, is it a 'one time event' or should I be concerned that this may be an intermittent problem? Its just that if I could get an advanced exchange, its a no brainer to swap it out (as I'd assume the GPS antenna wire is OK) as I'd just keep all the existing wires in place (wiring harness, pbrake wire, tachometer wire, reverse indicator, gps antenna and bluetooth mic). But if I had to uninstall everything, only to get a new one and redo everything, thats a 2-3 hours of cumulative labor I'd like to avoid. I j
  6. The same thing happened to my Avic-7000nex this morning. I installed the radio on Friday and today Tuesday it had the same problem: Drove the whole way to work without the GPS working, same errors as pictured above. When I got to work I turned my car off and back on and the radio seemed OK after that, but after spending $800+ on a radio, I'm wondering if I should just exchange it where I bought it (as I'm still within the return period window). Any recommendations?
