It's the worst mapping software I have ever seen in a big city. It will only zoom out about a mile (unless you do it manually, then it won't track and fills the screen with crap). Hell, I CAN SEE A MILE!!!! And in many cases, it doesn't give the name of the street until you are practically on top of it. Worst I have ever experienced.
You know what I was thinking the same thing. You used to be able to zoom in .25 mile increments and it would stay there. It does kinda suck now. AA seems better but what's the point of having a NAV system

Hey, thanks for uploading these 3 pictures of the new maps. This helps.
Welcome, not a prob. I don't recall how they used to look on my last 8100 before I sold it but it does seem to be a considerable upgrade as one of the other posters mentioned. I wouldn't pay the 129.99 if you don't travel much, I would just buy the update for your region.
-
I'd take it if it will work on the 8100...
Yup that's what I'm running. Message me with email addresses and I'll try and send the file.

How did u get a free 2015 q3 update. I just updated my 7000 and it's dated Jul 2014
I purchased the nex new this month off the bay and when I did the update it said I had a free latest map guarantee and it happened to be the 2015 q3. I think its a timing thing with naviextras website and when they release the update to whenever you do your first free latest maps update through their site. I have the file if anyone knows if its able to be used on another unit, I'd share.

When you added the "It happened after I installed a mono Soundqubed amplifier."..........did you connect the rca's with the HU powered on...aka hot swap?
Good point. Always be sure to connect / disconnect rcsa while the power is not hooked up to the unit. Pioneers have been somewhat notorious for that. I make sure to always plug RCA's up before plugging power harness in.
Next, grounds do go bad after corrosion etc. Check the ground for that amp and be sure to sand it down to bare metal and be sure the connections going to the ground are free of corrosion. Last but not least you could try buying a ground loop isolator to get rod of noisetheyre pretty cheap on auction sites and online. Hope this helps....

Are any of you guys using metra gmos adapters for your vehicle's? When I had my tahoe and envoy using gmos and pioneer avics, I had nothing but issues but it was 100% the gmos adapters. Just a thought... I ended up switching to the Axxcess brand and problem solved. My 8000 does this. I don't have a maestro. It's been doing it since I installed it. There are times when it will happen every time I start my truck for a week and then it wont happen again for a couple weeks.
I have emailed pioneer a few times about it but always comes back to the same "solution" of sending the unit in for repair. I'm not eager enough to do that as changing sources fixes the issue for me.
The thing about that workaround is I cant just change source from, for example, XM to USB. I have to change from XM to USB and then back to XM and this will give me sound. It's annoying but not enough to make me drive around with no radio for 3+ weeks.
I do have my 8000 hooked up to an aftermarket amp. A wild guess is the turn on signal isn't being sent to the amp on occasion, or it is lagging behind.

I would disconnect the rr completely to see if the problem persists with the rr out of the equasion,
Me too!! This ^^^^

I usually go to the back of the head unit red accessories wire. Works great for me. But you still want to leave the reverse/ purple wire hooked up to your taillight so that the rearview mode still works. Hope this helps....

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere. Possibly the Alpine amp for mids / highs

I'm sure they would make more money if they only charged $25
130 is too much, might as well by a Garmin
Double that🙋👌

Oh, I misunderstood your question. On a street by Street level not sure that can be done. I have to play a round and see what I find.
-
Look in to your map settings tons are in there.
-
Not sure if this helps you can do a map search of an area in the pic to get a comparison. The new maps seem more accurate than previous, but I'm not 100% if they are actually better. I just updated them so I will share once I get to see more lanmarks and stuff. One thing I recall is that it did update alot of 3d landmarks in the update. If you don't travel out of state much I would pay for just the update for your region. $129.99 is a bit steep 😓

I got the free 2015 q3 latest map guarantee. Looks about the same but the graphical representation of the maps look a lot better, more life like.

Sounds like you maybhave the mute wire hooked up wrong or need to adjust volume levels for the features mentioned. I willing to bet its the yellow mute wire hooked up to something it shouldn't be.

I'm using a 1TB buffalo portable hard drive in USB 1 (albeit its only 500gb usable) but it works fine for music photo and video files. No issues whatsoever on the 8100 it reads fairly fast to for the initial load time. The avics seem to like either fat32 or ntfs file systems only!! Hint hint....
-
It depends on how whoever programmed the steering wheel module. It has to be programmed in a specific order.
-
Looks kinda slick BUT...... 2 volt pre's....... I'll pass......

For the speed removal its nav settings. Once in map screen touch little three line menu towatds right. Scroll right select settings then select warnings then speed warnings menu. Hope this helps. As far as bypass i think thats it. On my 8000 it does it from time to time.
-
Yup. Agreed with Eric it does this when putting vehicle in reverse before the head unit loads
A work around (i guess) could be to push the home button first before throwing the vehicle into reverse.
-
Thanks everyone. Ill add a aftermarket one and wire it up to switched power instesd of reverse only power and will update.
-
Thats the point ,but we need this option , and it must be , that's my opinion

On 1.07, my backup camera worked without fail. Previously, it was intermittent. Sometimes, I would just get a black screen. But the problem went away on 1.07.
On 1.08, this problem is happening again. On initial start, when backing out...it works fine. But if I try it again, whether it be holding the maps button or backup up again...I get the black screen.
I want to confirm that this is a software issue.
How can I rollback to 1.07? Is it simply a matter of updating via SD card, or do I need to do a factory reset?
Im having issues with back up cam. But i think mine is coming from using factory cam linked to reverse light power instead of switched power. Are you using a aftermarket cam or factory. I noticed on the 1.06 release notes it says to use a aftermarket cam.
-
Im using a factory back up cam in 08 tahoe. When putting into reverse works like a charm. However if i use the maps button for rear view it does not work. If i put vehicle in reverse and hurry up and press the map button after out of reverse the rear view cam can be seen for about 10 secs. Just wondering if anyone uses this feature with factory back up cam? I think its because camera not always powered.
Avic 6200 nex wont turn on without key in ignition
