Two questions if I may:
1)With my old D3, there as a mic-in plug on the front of the unit which allowed me to plug a male-to-male audio cord into it and my ipod or any other audio device, and play the music through a/v 1 or a/v2. Having a difficult time figuring out how to do this with the z110, if even possible.
2) Map Question: I have to have the map all the way zoomed in to view a lot of the roads around my home, however the names of the roads are written so far off of the screen that I have to pan over just to see which road is coming up. Is there a setting I am missing? Didn't have this problem with my D3.
Appreciate any insight.

So I'm a little hesitant to post this because I'm sure a lot of people have figured this out but...
No need to buy an OEM $50 ipod cable.
Buy a $2.99 male-to-male audio cable at the store, and use your stock white ipod charging cable.
-Plug the male-to-male audio cable into your ipod and then into the pioneer usb/audio cable.
-Connect the ipod charging/syncing cable to the ipod, and then to the pioneer usb port.
Full audio/video/charging. Only tested on my 2g ipod touch.
Hope this helps one person save a couple bucks.

Yea but after getting burned already I just wouldn't be so quick to go with another potentially problem piece. Especially a refurb from eBay. I mean, I cant imagine a riskier option. At least the first one he got was DOA. This one might work for 60 days or so and take a dump.
True it could take a dump. The returns are anything from customer returns (anything opened and returned, even after a day), to fixed by pioneer because of a problem. It has a manufacturers warranty if need be, its only 90 days. I bought my D3 on ebay 3 years ago and have had no problems (knock on wood). This is honestly the only bad transaction in 400 buys/sells.
I do really appreciate everyone's help and support.

Well good luck on the refurb. Still don't why you went the risky route. There is a thread on here to a place that is selling the 120 for less then 800 after rebate.
I am just trying to keep my costs down. I figure I can get $400 for my D3, didn't want to spend more than $250ish on top of my sale of the D3. And I can use the torrent from here to upgrade to the 120. I'll have to read up on that and see if people have been having problems or if the kinks have been worked out. Still you're right, for $800 for the 120, thats a pretty great deal.

Yeah, I hope you haven't already pulled the trigger on all those cables, adapters, and missing parts. I thought it was odd when, in another thread, you said the seller was replacing it with a Z120-BT, which is exactly the same unit. All that it takes is a software update, which can be had for $150 (or free). So why replace the HU if it was working?
Yea, I never got a straight answer as to why the cables didnt come with it. He said in one email it was never installed, then in another email he said he had installed it. He finally agreed to take it back after I opened a case. Im going to document the condition of the unit before I ship it back tho just to cover myself. I ended up buying a refurb from a big seller instead. was only $658 plus $7 shipping and it comes with all accessories. So Ill have a new toy to play with soon

Its dead and thats the price you pay sometimes when buying stuff on eBay. I get you got a good deal and all but if he wont take it back, what kind of good deal did you get. I think you should worry because there is no way this guy didn't know it was toast before selling it to you. That likely means he isn't going to wont to take it back. Good luck however.
Think just a broken lcd or all kinds of other problems?
Appreciate your response. The seller has been pretty nice so far.

I just received my z110bt from ebay and when I turn it on, I get a white screen with a few black boxes and multi-colored lines, then it goes to a greyish blue screen with white patches and won't boot any further. The buttons light up, however they don't respond. Any idea what causes this problem?
I wanted to work with the seller in getting it fixed, but if its a big deal (like i believe) then im shipping it back.

Would this mic be a suitable replacement for the factory z110bt microphone? Do I have to worry about plug length or shape?
-
No and there was no such unit for the D3 either.
Nothing similar to this?:

No.
I remember there being an additional unit for the D3 that gave substantially more vehicle dynamics. Is there a similar unit for the z or x series to add on to gain vehicle dynamics?
-
On my D3, you have multiple vehicle dynamic options to view such as: angular velocity, slope, compass, voltage, side acceleration, ect. Are there no options for this on the x920bt or z series?
-
Can the z110bt be bypassed without the a/v cables which has the mute wire?
-
You can buy the required cables from Pioneer. Gee, I wonder why a person would be selling a HU on ebay without bothering to also include the cables? Probably because they couldn't hang around long with the alarm going off.
Well, I hope you got a great deal, cause it's unlikely you will find someone selling them. These are specific to this unit. You can order replacements from Pioneer, but it will be expensive. You will also need the GPS antenna and power cord. I'd guess it's about $150-$200 for everthing you shoud of received from a legit seller. I looked into just buying a spare power cord once, and it alone was about $45.
Yea not sure why, think he upgraded to the z120 and it didnt come with the cables. But I got the hu for $515 with the manuals and original box so im sure its legit. Youre about on point with the prices for cables. I ebayed the power cord ($22) and antenna ($21.90). The ipod cord is $15, and the usb cable is $62, mic $36.50, A/V cables are $65. Just looking for lower prices. Never know

No, the built-in Pandora interface only works with an iPhone/iPod touch. It requires a custom Pioneer app to be installed on the phone.
I comes with a fairly long USB dongle. One end plugs into the back of the HU, the other has a female USB jack. It also has a female 1/8" mini-jack for A/V. Your Pioneer iPod adapter (optional) plugs into both of these.
It comes with a mic, try it before you buy one. Mine works as good as any other non-noise cancelling mic. Some people have tried 3rd party mics with varying results.
Not sure what A/V harness you want. It comes with a dongle with all the AV jacks (various RCA inputs and outputs). You will probably want an adapter to plug into your factory harness.
Ok I understand the pandora situation now.
I do still need the above parts because the one I bought on ebay did not come with them
-
I just bought and am waiting for my z110bt. Does the pandora feature work with android phones such as the HTC Evo?
Also looking for the following to purchase for the unit:
-USB Cable
-Ipod cable
-A/V Harness
-Mic
Let me know if you have any of these for sale.

The navigation itself is also acting really funny, like not giving me proper directions, and the arrow on the screen that shows the location of my car will not move in the proper direction. For instance it will be pointed down but move to the side instead.
-
So I recently hooked up a camera to the video out line and it works perfect, however now in the navigation screen where you can display 3 different gauges (angular velocity, slope, direction, voltage ect), I can only get few gauges to work.
The ones that work are: direction, side acceleration, voltage.
I thougth I might have loosened a cable when i pulled the HU out, however everything looks secure. I also did a reset on the HU and am still experiencing the same symptoms.
Any suggestions?

Does the z2 only use the CD-IB100ii, or can it use the CD-IB200?
Thanks folks.

It is a 2004 Mazda 3s sedan

Is it normal for my exact location to be 1.1 miles off course since the d3 is still in learning mode? Or is that because the vss wire isnt connected properly?
-
I dont have an amp hooked up. It is all stock.
All of the rca jacks are unhooked. and only the wiring harness is connected. Do i need the rca's hooked up to hear the voice guidance?
I listen to music fine without them hooked up.

I never installed the original navigation disk because it didnt come with one on ebay.
So i bought the upgrade disks. Will buying the original disks solve this problem?
