  1. From Pioneer. This is stupid !

So much for hands free texting and calling.

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

The steering wheel controls will not integrate with the Android Auto application side.

  2. I talked to Axxess and my ASWC-1 was not responding correctly so they had me do a firmware update. Once I did that then the programming worked as I expected it to.

However I just realized in Android mode non of my buttons work as they should. Vol +/-, etc.  They do odd things like change program.  Now in Pioneer mode they work fine.

So I have a message in to Pioneer. Doubting this is going to end well. LOL

  3. I am guessing the answer is no but thought I would check.  The hands free thing on my 8100 works great for text and calls however I have to press button on the Avic screen to use it.

I have not been able to get the button on my steering wheel to activate it either but not sure I am doing the manual programming correctly.  I actually have the cable to run the android app to program the Axxess but my device(s) dont seem to run in host mode.

    Thanks

  4. I have an Avic Z2 that has been upgraded to Z3 with larger drive. Also has all options as far as I know. BT, XM, iPod adapter, etc.

It recently started slipping trying to tilt the screen which I realize is the plastic gear and can be repaired by pinning or sending off for $90-$120.

I am just thinking about upgrading to something different instead of having it repaired.  Is there a market for these things still?  Works great (except tilt) and is installed in a  garage queen with low usage so condition is excellent.

  5. Thanks guys. One more question. I have the hard drive out right now. Current updating map files...

I want to erase music library and start over.

Can I delete folders in MSV partition under music?

Just trying to save time. I dont remember the method doing it from the head unit.

    Thanks

  6. Trying to burn some CDs from my MP3 collection so I can write them to my library. I did about 20 CDs before trying them and only about half of them have the artist/title info.

What format of Tagging is the Avic Z3 looking for? I guess I am going to have to get a tag editor and check everything bfore I make CDs.

    Thanks

  7. Yea I used a regular program to burn it from an image.

As I said the files and folders are on the CD as they should. I dont have the iso file on the CD. So should be good there.

    Press map???

Is this something you are supposed to do? Is there update instructions for it? They just tossed the CD in.

  8. I am helping someome remotely with a Z1 BT update.

He bought a Z2 hard drive off ebay and I helped him do a 2 wire bypass.

That worked fine but the drive died 8 weeks later.

So he put the original hard drive in but would like to have it bypassed.

Since the 2 wire is complete I thought we just had to do the bluetooth update.

I downloaded the ISO for them and burned the ISO to CD. It appears to work correctly as all the files (or I think all) are on the CD.

When they put in CD it shows CD inserted but nothing takes off.

Is there anything special to do when you insert CD? I could not find instructions on process.

  9. PAC says that the following are the best bets to get rid of issues.

Make sure your connection (green wire) is good. Solder is recommended.

Only program with a FULL battery.

Install a .47 microfarad cap from green wire to ground.

I have an issue where my heated seats are changing my source when it decides to.

I have not tried the fix yet. I am already soldered. My battery could have been low when I programmed it. I plan to do it running as was said above. And will install the cap while I do it.

  10. I don't think there is anything else on the market that will do so much so well.

Its not the best at everything it does, but for everything its the best.

The new ZR1 corvette coming out is going to be one expensive SOB. Its not going to haul 6 people and pull a horse trailer. That does not make it a failure does it?

Sure the routing on the Z2 is not the best. How are the audio quailties on the Magellan? Bet its a blast to watch DVDs on.

  11. Yea it helps to break it down into playlist for sure. I stopped using Itunes this week and started syncing and making playlist with Winamp. I am must happier with it.

I tried something as a test that kind of worked but not how I wanted.

I created playlist for A-D, E-H, I-L, M-P etc. Then I added all artist to those playlist. It only took about 5 minutes to create the playlist and copy the artist to the proper playlist.

So if I want to listen to Joe Walsh I just select playlist I-L. The only problem is I expected to see the artist but it was the titles. So Joe Walsh's songs are there if you know the titles.

I would be happy if Pioneer had made it so you could hold down the sroll bar and get a A-Z thing come up to select.

  12. For the most part I try to use the Library but have about 4,000 songs I would like to keep on the iPod. Some are artist with only one track because they are from things I ripped like Ultimate 70s'.

Anyway would like those with tips on how to organize playlist etc to help with browsing to chime in.

Wish there was a easier way to jump to a letter. Like the M's instead of scrolling !

    Thanks in advance
