  1. Try these guys. http://www.ambientweather.com/db310460wh.html If not, do a search for 310-460WH on Google. Lots of places sell them.
  2. Yes. As I said this would have been my choice but my noise was bad and I did not want to wait. Works awesome. There are literally hundreds of post on the other site about this. But they are all hacking and soldering. This is easy and clean. Below is rough drawing of what to do.
  3. Same thing as what I did. Allows you to ground the sheild of the RCAs at the head unit end. In this case you would just remove the plastic piece shown in that picture and use a ring terminal liks this http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:lL7 ... rminal.jpg
  4. Something you might consider is this. http://www.audio-discounters.com/310-460wh.html I would have went this route but did not want to wait. Remove the plastic and add a ring terminal around it and tighten nut. I think this was a better setup but cant find locally.
  5. Yep, I am sure I can. Its a lot easier than soldering to the connectors like they were doing on that site.
  6. Sure, there are several, but this is a long thread and you will see a lot here. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198477 Just finished three more. I am not going to worry about subs.
  7. I read a lot on caraudio.com and it sounds like Pioneer is really bad about ground loops. I made this cable (the wire goes to sheild) and installed it in just one of my RCA lines and noise went away. I still get a few odd noises on and off from heated seats, etc. I plan to do the other 5 !
  8. Nope. I ran my 4 gauge power down drivers sill plate and RCA's down passenger side. Both sides have looms from the factory though.
  9. This isnt an issue with the Z2 but I have noise in my speakers when no audio is coming from the headunit. I think its picking it up on the low level RCA cable(s). I have monster cable preamp running from the Headunit to the amp in back of truck (trailblazer). This is the 3 pairs in one cable type. I can unplug the RCAs from the amp and it stops. The noise is pulsing and has somewhat of a pattern. I am pretty its computer noise. Any suggestions?

    Z2 BYPASS

Yea thats normal. The warning does not go away.
  11. Just as a follow up, It was the two wire bypass not making contact. All the tugging to get the harness in the dash pulled the pin back far enough it wasnt making contact. So all is good now. Thanks
  12. Well that did not work. I am getting ready to pull the headunit back out. I remember my mute wire/pin did not lock in place as well as I liked on the two wire mod and maybe during all the wire tugging I did on install it pulled out. Thanks
  13. Haha, could it be that simple? Yes, I have done the two wire. Let me try it
  14. I have a May 07 Z2. I just installed it. I did the bypass update on the bench. When I installed it I grounded the parking brake wire. Now when I start it up I get a message about the parking brake corrected wrong or something to that effect. I also get a message about viewing DVD from the front seat when I start moving and video goes away. As I said, the parking brake is grounded at all times and I have my VSS wire hooked up. Thanks in advance Rich
  15. I installed JL Audio speakers in the doors. Components in front and straight coax in back. I have it working now minus a couple bugs. I have the Os-2 bose connected to the bose amp and the only speakers on the bose amp now is the jash. They are just for onstar and not audio. I was able to remove all the speaker wires in the pac harness on the input side.
  16. iPod Video. I can search it too. But I like the format of the Library how it lists the songs as they are playing

    Phone list

Not supported with that phone. I have a Razr max and cant transfer contacts either.
  18. Found out that my "fin" on my 06 traiblazer has both onstar and XM built in. But they are not electrically connected. So I can just connect the antenna to my Pioneer XM box and dont have to work about Onstar because it comes in and connects elsewhere.

  20. I guess the question is.. Onstar. I have my Z2 ready to go in and thought I had it all figured out. If we plug the factory XM antenna (shark fin in my case) into the Pioneer XM unit how does Onstar get antenna? I did not realize the XM and Onstar used the same.
  21. I am doing my Z2 on by Trailblazer SS in the next couple days. Amp and speakers are done and all wiring ran. I am planning on using the "shark fin" antenna on the top for XM. I was told that its a matter of removing the plastic from the antenna connector and it will plug right in to the Z2/xm box. I dont know this for a fact yet.
  22. OK, gotcha. So when passing under trees it has the ability to keep you moving for a while based on vehicle speed and accelerometer. Sounds worth doing if its right there ready to hook up.
  23. Wonder what part. The VSS cant tell you where you are. Only the GPS can do that. I can see a more accurate speed display on the vehicle dynamics part. Any idea what changes with the VSS? Thanks !! Rich
  24. Just go to settings, hardware, service info screen and then HOLD the very top left of the panel. This will give you revision history. I just updated mine and its 2.000500 Rich
