  2. I installed a D3 in a '06 Jetta, many thanks to this forum, I learned a lot here. I used a standard wiring harness instead of a CAN-BUS adapter, such as the CARP. The only thing that doesn't work is the Retained Power Accessory function, but I can live without that.

     

    I used the Metra dash kit, but I'm not impressed with it. The Double-DIN side panels came unsnapped when inserting the unit into the dash, so I'll probably replace it with the Scosche.

  3. I'm about to install a D3 in my '06 Jetta. Sorry for all the questions, but you did a great job and this will be a big help to a lot of us.

     

    Which dash kit did you use? It looks like it matches the factory color and texture, does it?

     

    What is the CARP, and where do you get it? Is it required for speed pulse, or can you use the white/purple wire behind the dash?

     

    Which wiring harness did you use? Did it require you to splice into any of the factory wires? Are you using the factory amps and speakers?
