  1. I once had an ASWC-1.  As far as I know, you can only remap functions through SWC button presses and counting LED flashes... a major PITA.

Also, the USB port is only for firmware updates... and the updater software is Windows only.

Do yourself a favor if you want to remap the buttons and have dual functions, get the iDatalink Maestro SW.  Your can custom remap through website and USB (I don't know if it can be done through Android or iDevice at present).

Thanks for the response. I was following this video from their website, but again, just using usb cables I had at home, not the Metra cables.

  2. Wondering if anyone can help with this question.  I was trying to remap some buttons on my ASWC-1 last night. However, it wasn't connecting to the unit through the app on my note 4.  Do the cables have to be the Metra cables?  I just got a 5-pin type b micro usb to OTG USB and used my Samsung usb charging cable. Or is it the fact that the note 4 is not applicable?

  3. I Installed an ASWC-1 and it works just fine. Long press on the voice button for Siri. The pick up and hang up buttons only work to initiate and end calls. Install is really easy as they make specific adapters for Toyota. You can also program the buttons the way you want, although it's a pain in the ass so mine are all default.

So I wouldn't need to splice any wires? Just plug and play?

  4. I tried using it at first. Once I realized it didn't do anything, I put it in the console and forgot about it.

Ok.  Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything, like if a firmwire update would do anything.  Guess I need to get the steering wheel control adapter after all.  I'm assuming that will allow pretty much full function of existing controls?

  5. Alright, I think I solved the listing of songs and such using mediamonkey and autonumber.

But I'm still really disappointed in the remote control for this unit.  Is the directional pad only active for the DVD function of this unit.  It doesn't work at all when searching for music on the USB or SD input?

  6. So, I have a couple issues that I'd like to ask about.

    1. The remote that came with my 4000NEX is really disappointing. Seems like half the buttons are non-functional on it. Is there something I'm supposed to do for thos? Like it seems the directional pad and enter button doesn't work for anything.

    2. Why are all my songs on my thumb drive in alphabetical order rather than album song list order? Any way to change the order?

    Thanks.

  7. This is how Touchwiz displays in landscape. PICT_20150307_123429.jpg

This is how an alternative launcher displays in landscape. I use Nova Prime but Apex, Google Now and others will work just as well.

But these are apps to run, which doesn't give the full use of your phone like a true mirroring does, right?

  8. Having a similar issue while installing my 4000NEX with my OEM backup camera on my 2014 4Runner. Did a piggyback to rca off what we though were the right wires. Shift onto reverse and it's triggered, but I get no image. Any thoughts? Wired in right harness tapped for video. The harness being held on left needed to be plugged into OEM headunit for the camera to work. So there is a wire on the harness on the left that needs to be used but don't know what.

  9. Alright, so things worked like I thought. USB cable in USB1 port for flash drive and HDMI MHL connector for mirror with USB from MHL in USB2 for charging.

Only thing is the mirror image of my Note 4 doesn't quite fit the screen. The aspect ratio is a little off. Any way to adjust this?

  10. I'd check USB 1 to see if it's used to update the radios firmware on the 4000.

I have a USB cable inatalled on USB 1 for firmware updates and to add personal background images.  I do use it for a music via flashdrive when I loose cell phone signal driving x country.

I can't say connecting the radios USB cable to your vehicles USB port is possible because I don't know what your driving.  If you have a Honda, the answer is a definite yes.

    I have a 2014 Toyota 4Runner.

  11. Ok, new question.  So I know the bottom USB is for the android and the top is for apple.  Does that mean that the top cannot be used if I have android?  Or can I run the USB adapter cable they provide to the OEM USB port on my dash for my flash drive?

  12. Alright, trying to figure this whole mirror thing out.  Recently purchased the AVH-4000NEX unit, and I have a AT&T Galaxy Note 4.  I'm trying to see if there is a way to get the full on mirror and control of my phone on the head unit screen.  I don't really want to root my phone (and not sure if I can from what I've read), so the ARUnchained option is out.  So I saw the ARLiberator option.  However, it seems like this won't work on the NEX units?  Is this true?  Has there been any updates to allow this to work?

If that does not, is there any other options to get this to work?  I believe I need to get an MHL adpater and plug the HDMI and USB into the back of the headunit (USB into the lower port, correct?).  Then the micro USB goes into my phone.  But this alone will have limited ability and will not do what I'm looking for, correct?

    Thanks for the help.
