  1. Go to crutchfield.com and put your vehicle in. It will show you what you specifically need to do the installation, as well as what accessories are available.

I bought the mounting bracket and wiring harness from them, but Amazon had everything else much, much cheaper. Get the part numbers and shop around.

  2. Problem Solved! No, the wires weren't messed up. I don't know how anyone could do that.

Turns out it was a settings problem. I don't know why, but the Antenna Control has to be in Power mode (vice Radio). XM works, but I forgot to take my iPhone to the car with me, so I'll have to wait until after work to test it. It seemed to work last night (sans audio), so my hopes are high.

    Other lessons learned:

Wear gloves in cold weather. My hands are hamburger.

    MisFit is awesome. Thanks again.

If you take the center console out, make sure the seatbelt receiver is on the OUTSIDE of it before putting it back in.

  3. I couldn't get the 'guide on' wire to go into the magic hole, so I just cut a new one, put it in, and made sure it was secure. I tapped this wire and the parking brake wire into the black wire that looks like it's supposed to be put under a screw. It's the same black wire that comes out of a 1X1X2 in box that also has the yellow battery wire.

Did I do everything correctly? Thx.

  4. I know this has been beaten to death, but I really don't want to fry my new radio. I understand I need to ground the parking brake and 'magic' wire. However, I want to make sure I understand the 'magic' wire in the 'magic' hole. I understand that I can either cut/move the mute wire or just add a new wire to the hole in the picture. Is this correct? If not, please explain like you would to an 8 year old.

    Remember, I'm an Aggie.
