anyone tried to write a clean NEX8100 img inside a sd card and put in another Pioneer HU like Nex5100 ou Nex5000? If this works, we can enable Android Auto in this units?

you can update your HU without pay for that
just need a updated lyc file
 

What's the advantage for 8000-NEX users?  It sounds like I can get map updates for ... cheaper shall we say?

Nex8000 and 8100 users have more licenses  and contents like 3d cities
