  1. The bluetooth problem was due to the autoconnect feature on the radio. The phone is trying to automatically connect to the radio as soon as it is powered on, and with autoconnect on, the radio is doing the same. Those two searching for each others signals are not receiving signal from each other. I turned off autoconnect from the radio settings and wam-bam uncle sam, it worked perfectly and continues to work perfectly. Also, regarding the software bypass. The tutorial says to press for up to 15 seconds in the lower left quadrant, half inch in and half inch across. On the 6100NEX (maybe others) the proper place to press is actually IN the corner of the lower left quadrant. I pressed in that corner for 6 seconds and "set on" message popped up. Also no more "incorrect connection of power brake wire" anymore.

  2. i have a new 2016 avic 6100 nex and it wont bypass and menu bar is on side not on bottom like in viedo

I have the same radio and I have had the same issue with the software bypass not working for me. That is because the placement of your finger in the lower left quadrant is wrong. It is not a half inch up, half inch out. Put your finger in the bottom left corner of the screen, like IN the corner of the screen and count SLOWLY TO 15. It will say "set on" before you reach 10.

To find the menu on the 6100 you just press the button (on the left side) that is different from all the rest. It is in the very center of all of the button. It is silver I think and has four little boxes. Then in the bottom right corner you will see "AV", press that. On the next page you should see, at the very bottom near center of screen, "OFF". Press that. Then follow the instructions above.

Just as a side note. I have read through every post, on every page of this thread and it wasn't until I searched "6100NEX" on this forum was I able to discover a thread from a member with a similar issue, with the same unit, and a member that made a post about the proper placement of your finger in the lower-left quadrant. The guy who posted this discovery should be given an award, however, someone decided to make him feel like crap and a "know it all".

I have tried for weeks to get Set On to come up. I went so far as to pulling my radio BACK out, extending the lite green parking brake wire and mounting to various known ground locations, soldering into radio ground, and even (don't recommend this) punching it lol. This entire time all I was doing wrong was putting my finger in the wrong place. That explains why the wife doesn't let me touch her anymore.

  3. Why does my radio/phone connect and disconnect from each other over and over again before finally connecting? Sometimes I can't even get my phone to connect via bluetooth. I have to delete my phone from the bluetooth memory and start all over again. I have a AVIC-6100NEX and an Iphone 6. Most of the time if my vehicle is not moving, my phone will automatically connect. However, if I get in my truck and immediately drive off, my phone will connect for a second, then disconnect, then connect, then disconnect and stay disconnected.

Also. I have grounded the light green wire to a known ground point behind my dash, but still every single time I start rolling a little bit I get the "parking brake wire not connected properly" message. I have checked and checked again every how-to and have followed the directions to the Tee. I have tried the bottom left quadrant trick as well and I cannot get "set-on" to come up. What's the deal? Can the 6100nex not be bypassed?

I feel as if these two issues are related.

  4. Hello there. I just installed a AVIC6100NEX into my Toyota X-Runner ( supercharged  ) and i have ran into a very annoying issue! When selecting themes for the day/night map I am only presented with one option theme called "dark".

    The user manual says:

Day Skin Theme: You can select the style and colors of the navigation menu used in the day time.

Night Skin Theme: You can select the style and colors of the navigation menu used in the night time.

But there is only ONE option available to me! What's going on here? Am I not understanding the manual :?:  :?:  :?:
