  1. Great news. I am assuming you just updated the BT using CNSD-310FM's v3.24. and are still running 2015 maps?  BTW, I'm sure that the out-sourced 1st tier tech support is just reading from a script. They don't know jack and if your problem isn't trivial they are no help.

Yes still running the 2015 maps with no other problems to report.

  2. IIRC there have been similar problems reported here with the Galaxy S5 after upgrading. I think it started with the 2013 version (which is the same BT files as 2015). So maybe there was some incompatibility between the S5 software and last Pioneer (Parrot) BT. You might look for those threads. I think some people fell back to the older BT software - I forgot what version. If you can find the older files you can install them the same way through the BT settings menu.

I was having some BT audio connection problems after the 2013 update. I have a Nexus 5. But it cleared up after newer releases of Android. I'm on v6.xx now and my only BT problem is re-connecting to a BT source when I start the car. It seems to timeout waiting for the phone connection. It doesn't happen every time.  I just need to wait for the phone to reconnect then toggle to a non-BY source and back.

Another option (if you feel comfortable hacking your phone) is to install a custom Android ROM on your phone. The xda site (link) has several S5 ported Android v6.xx ROMs with many customizations and features. Now guaranty but that may solve your problem.

So..How about a way easier method. Pioneer on the phone told me (a blatant lie) that it was impossible to revert the bt fw back to 3.24.

I just found a post on here titled "z140bh Bluetooth audio problem". There's a link to download a 2.3 gig file containing the 2012 software including the the bt fw 3.24. It worked I just did it and now i am so relieved that i don't have to go out and spend $1k plus for a new HU. Not having something work drives me insane. I guess I'm ocd that way. I have the need to fix things and make things work lol...That post has great instructions. Super easy. Get this info out there...and the name of the file is cnsd-310fm

My pandora is controlled from the HU and plays through my truck speakers again.

  3. Try to find the 2012 map update (Google CNSD-310FM). You can even use the European version. You might find a Torrent or someone still hosting it. Once you have it, don't try to install . Just copy the FIRMWARE directory onto an SD, insert into your headunit, then go to Settings/Bluetooth and install the firmware. I think this will be BT Firmware 3.24.

  4. Since you didn't give any information about your HU, I can only guess. This BT streaming audio problem seems to have started with Android 5 (Lollipop). I don't think v6 (Marshmallow) improved the issue. There seems to be some incompatibility with the newer Android BT versions and AVIC head units. I recall someone with this problem stated that loading an older version of the AVIC BT firmware fixed the issue (but I think some other functionality was lost). You could try the older 2012 BT firmware by downloading and extracting CNSD-310-FM then copy the FIRMWARE directory to an empty SD (no Testmode.key). Insert into your HU, go to Settings/Bluetooth Settings/Firmware Update and install.  If it doesn't fix your problem, you can always reload the newest firmware. I figure its worth a shot. BTW, it appears that the latest AVIC 2015 map upgrade has the same BT firmware as 2013.

So..I was having that problem after i updated my bt fw to the 3.32 of the bt playing through my phone but still controlled by the HU. I just downloaded that cnsd-310-fm file to my comp. I then downloaded winrar and extracted the firmware file only to my sd. The pioneer avic z140bh did update the fw from 3.32 to the 3.24. Now I all my bt functionality is back to where it was and is supposed to be. This post kept me from sledge hammering my HU. Thank you so much. I called pioneer and they blamed me for the problems saying I should of considered the risk of updating with their software.  The guy told me that there was no way for the HU to revert the fw software. But for a lot of money I could send it in and they would fix it. Terrible customer service. Pioneer basically told me they dont care about me as a customer unless I want to spend more money. What I cant get over is they lied to me telling me the HU couldn't revert to an earlier fw. It obliviously can since I just did it and the link to the software should be well blasted all over this site. It took me 3 days to find this post lol. I know there's a bunch of people in the same boat i was.

  5. Did you ever figure it out? My Hu connects to my phone via bt. Everything works as it should. Except the sound plays out of my phone. Except bt calling. That function works as it should. I called pioneer an he told me that it's basically my fault for updating. He told me I'm insignificant because they sold 100,000 units and only few have problems. What kind of company is pioneer? I have never heard of a company that won't fix a problem their software created.

I have done every reset possible. But apparently you cannot load old software on the Hu. I feel pioneer could write a new firmware update to fix this no problem. But they don't care.

  6. Only modify CardInfo.CIF if you have a Z110, Z120, or X920. In the 1st sentence you say you updated to 2015.  So you must of done it right at least once. You're done. AFA Pandora and BT audio, make sure the App Connection setting is set to BT. You might want to re-pair the BT connection.

Well I bought the update from ebay but after installed it, thats when i found this forum and for some reason i thought that the cif file was to fix the bt problem. In my av settings on my HU the only option i have for app connection is ipod or others. I have reset the HU many times the demo mode came on and everything. Had to select all the things like if it was brand new. I'm at my wits end on this thing. I have reinstalled the bt fw 3.32 and that resets the bt. I have cleared the bt cache on my galaxy s5. I have re-paired the bt connection a dozen times and still nothing. On my phone the phone audio slider is on but i cannot get the the media audio slider to stay on. I'm sure i'm overlooking something, but when I first got the HU all this stuff worked right away and I had no issues. I should never have updated my bt.

  7. Hey there, I see this has been covered really well and extensively. However I recently got the 2015 maps and updated that and the bt firmware to the 3.32. Well now I have that problem the others have.

I tried the battery disconnect and the hu reset. My bt audio only plays out of my phone while i can still control pandora from the hu. On my galaxy s5 if i open up the bt settings it wont let me slide the media audio to on.

What am I missing? I have read through all this and did exactly what was described. I formatted the sd, i unzipped the files copied them to the sd. I erased the text from the cfi file and copied the new text. When I load the sd into the avic z140 nothing happens. If I dont edit the text and leave the file as is, it loads and asks if i want to update. I edited the text in the sublime text editor. It says its a cfi file. I have tried 100 times formatting the sd and trying again and again. I made sure it said 300 bytes.

    thanks nate
