  1. Hi, I recently posted about getting an F90BT for nothing from my brother, and that I had to setup a fresh copy of firmware 3.1 to make it functional again.  The radio now functions perfectly fine, I've been jamming out to the FM tuner, and some music I have on an SD Card pretty much all day.

The problem is, when I'm listening to music via an SD card, and I'm in the detailed view, it lags so bad, that the radio almost isn't usable, takes roughly 15~ seconds to change the station, playback time only updates once every 5 seconds, instead of every second like it should, and the touch screen buttons become useless.

If I go back to the main menu, I am able to change the station in realtime, it doesn't lag at all.  Why does it lag so badly in detailed view?  I understand it has to show you more information, which is more for the radio to process, but I would have thought Pioneer would have done better than that.

Any help would be appreciated, as I really never use AM/FM, and I was willing to sacrifice not being able to use my iPhone 6s since I can use an SD Card.  But if I can't even use an SD Card without this much trouble, I might as well go back to my single-din Pioneer and get back my bluetooth audio.  I love the radio, and would like to keep it.

  2. Hey guys, new to the forums, and to this radio.

I received it from my brother since it would boot and get stuck at the Pioneer splash screen.  I read through the forums, and decided to install a clean copy of firmware 3.1 from this topic http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/27807-fx31-complete-firmware-image/

Problem is, when I would enter the blue reset screen, and click Update sdcard format, it would get to Read 25% and the screen and keys would go black, so I restarted it and it booted into WinCE.

I tried to copy the files from the SD card to the My Flash Drive on the stereo, and it said there was not enough space.  So being the computer guru I am, I went into Control Panel, and formatted the partition that held My Flash Drive.

I recreated the My Flash Drive partition, but now even after copying the firmware 3.1 files, the radio will not boot.

Did deleting the original My Flash Drive partition just permanently brick my radio?

Thanks in advance for the help!
