Congrats! I'm the proud owner of an 8200 as well. I took a fist full of cables and had the installer run them all to my glove box for future use. This included a RCA (for video), HDMI, both usb's, and the aux. I haven't yet tried the hdmi, or plugging in two phones at once. I did see a you-tube video on getting a hdmi splitter so you can mirror, but haven't tried that yet either.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for both the post, and the answer. I also hate all those balloons on the map!

I was thinking that IF a phone was connected, then the radio could potentially have the smarts to run to the web and download the art. I guess not.
Thanks for the confirmation,

It may also depend on if you have a steering wheel module between your controls and the head unit. I have an older Axxiss ASWC-1 (that I recycled from a prior installation). As far as I can tell, it just cycles the channels from my pre-sets. Press-and-hold, just cycles them faster

Using the 8200NEX - Still using the shipped firmware (1.0 Code).
The Mode button on my steering wheel changes the radio source (SiriusXM, HD Radio, iTunes, Aux, etc). If the current app is the native Pioneer navigation/maps app, then the bottom of the screen shows me what I'm tuned to. Is there a way to get this bottom message to appear when i'm in any of the CarPlay apps? It really is handy. Is there a hack to enable this?
Anyone tried the 1.01. code yet? Does it allow for this? Did it fix any notable bugs? From the docs, it seems its mostly aimed at Pandora fixes. All comments welcome.
Thanks,

First, let me say that I was very underwhelmed with the product and support from NaviExtras when I was using it on my Alpine (which I just switched out for a Pioneer ASIC 8200NEX), so I'm not exactly "running" towards them to register and get the "2015Q4 with Latest Map Guarantee".
Apparently we are to use the AVICSync program to interact with the marketplace and download the various software (new maps, cheap gas, etc). This makes me a bit happier since the NaviExtras Toolbox was a real POS. I had to record items on a microSD card and move it between the Alpine and my Desktop. Ugh.
Question: Is there a way to ask the 8200 which maps it currently has installed?
Although I like Google Maps better then Apple maps, the AppleCar interface only leverages Apple (obviously), and like others, I'm a believer in using the cloud services so I've always got access to the latest.
So I may download the latest (before my 30 day trial gets turned off), or I may just continue to use the AppleMaps. Not sure yet.
Love the thread ! keep that feedback coming !

if you have the cover pic file in the album folder it works on my 8000
I'm playing the actual CD, so I don't believe the art is on the CD. It can't look it up?

Should I expect to see album artwork if I play a CD in the AVIC 8200NEX ?
I don't see artwork, and have tried it with my iPhone/Apple Car Play connected as well.
I would have figured it would be smart enough to pull the artwork from the iTunes Store.
Guess Not.
Any suggestions? Tips? Tricks?
Thanks,

Force FM Preset to Analog?
in NEX Series
Posted
When I listen to a certain FM HD stereo channel, every now and again I hear an echo, that lasts a few seconds. I do see the 8200 switch between stereo, analog and back again. Is there a way to force this preset to stay on Analog? Thanks!
