  1. Installed an X950bt the other day.  Used an Axxess CHTO-013 harness for install into a 2006 Grand Cherokee.

Every time I start the vehicle, it boots up from where it left off, but then suddenly lowers volume to minimum on its own and changes modes.  For example, starts on FM1, then cuts volume and switches to FM2.

I've only saw it happen with basic radio so far.  Still don't have my Sirius antenna or iPod cable installed yet to see if it does the same sort of thing on those source modes.

  2. Why not upgrade to Toyota nav? That's what I did. Most of the connecters are already there and for the most part it ended up being plug and play and being stock it looks perfect in dash and will add resale at time of trade in being that it's factory. Plus you'll preserve your steering wheel controls and factory bluetooth (if equipped). Toyota's bluetooth is leaps and bounds beyond anything aftermarket. Most callers can't tell they're on speaker as I'm crusing 70mph on the highway.

I have the 08 Crewmax LTD that came with the stock JBL radio. I use the aux input for iPhone and to stream Pandora's music through the cellular. Quality is great.

Only thing that's annoying is the lockout while driving.

actually, i replaced the garbage NAV that came with the truck. it is absolutely horrible.

after some more searching, i was able to find which harness's i needed. the install was actually not bad at all. the only problem i had, was finding the illumination wire. i still am not sure which wire it is. so i left it unhooked for now. its actually not that bad at night. so im in no rush to trace it down. but if someone has the info, it would be appreciated.

  3. well my Z2 is screwed. i have to send it in for a repair estimate. does anyone know where i could find a Z with no wiring or harness's with it for cheap?? i dont wanna have to drive around with no headunit in my truck for a month, while i wait for mine to get repaired.

Your best bet is to get an z1 for cheap and upgrade it to z3 with a pre-loaded z3 drive ready, or unlock it and update it your self.

even the Z1's seem to be asking a pretty penny. ill just have to keep my eyes on ebay.

  5. another problem i have with this unit. is that it doesnt seem to follow me properly. i tried to use the nav one day. and it showed me a whole province off to the east.

i attempted to use the "modify current location" option in the settings. i tried this multiple times. but after travelling for awhile. my position would be inccorect.

is there a way i can reset it. so it will reposition itself with the sattelite??

i have the 2-wire by-pass done, if that matters.

  6. i posted awhile ago, about my Z2 not recognizing my I-pod. my wiring was all good. and then i also went ahead and installed my sirius tuner.

got the sirius activated. and it all looks fine on the headunit displays. but there is no sound.

should i just contact pioneer about this?? it sounds to me, like the problem is internal.

  7. so im going to be hooking up both a sirius tuner, and an ipod interface to the ip-bus. there is power hook up on the ipod interface, and then more power hook up on the sirius module. can i just wire up one or the other?? they have to be ponied together. so i figure if one ip-bus cable has power, than the other must too.

  8. apparently im a tad retarded tonight. i found the blue/white wire. it was on a different harness.

but i just realized im going to need 2 remote wires. one for the factory speaker amplifier. and one for my aftermarket amp that will run my subs.

so i should be fine to just splice another wire off the blue/white. so i can run the second take off, back to my aftermarket amp, right??

  9. i have a Z2. im installing it in a 2007 tundra with JBL NAV. i am splicing into a scosche harness.

after reading through the installation manual, it seems like they are saying the blue/white wire is for the amp remote source. but there is no blue/white wire.

    can somebody help me out??

    thanks

  10. is there somewhere i can get cutom install instructions for an 07 toyota tundra??

it is a little more involved than a normal install, since you have steering wheel controls, and it needs a harness for maintaining the JBL system. as well, i would like to know how i go about retaining my factory rear view camera.

    thanks,
