  1. Hi guys,

I'm looking for something to update my HD3BT (Z2) with new maps for almost an year, but here in Europe the new discs cost +230€!

Even in European pioneer forums no one made an disc image yet, so I want to ask if anyone here allready know well the file structure of the Z disc at the point of copying the X series maps, or other, to the Z disc?

The maps and interface of the X3 looks identical...

It sounds a bit strange, but its an idea, and any idea of getting things cheaper are good ideas

  2. Hello all,

Does anyone know how the updates for the F900 work? How is the unit updated, by dvd, by SD?

I'm asking this because I'm considering changing my Z2 unit for a F900 unit since at this moment I need to update my Z2 and I have to pay +200€ for new map updates!

If the updates for the F900 can be obtained by a cheaper way :D I will go for the F900.

    Thanks

  3. As long as it's a Z3 image. My only concern with your unit is that the U.S. and European models are infinitely different. If you use the Z3 image from this forum you HIGHLY risk bricking your head unit, and I really warn against using it. However, if you are able to pull an Acronis image (kind of like the one we have here) from a European model, that would work great for what you need.

I mentioned Z2 and Z3 just for naming

I was referring the HD3->HD3II upgraded unit.

There is a member here with his unit upgraded via dvd disc!

  4. The only way I could think is doing it how we did it (i.e. getting a virgin image off of a brand new drive) except you would need to find a way to get an image of an HD3BT.

A already updated Z2->Z3 will do?

  5. Are the disc CNDV-800HDD the same in Europe and US?

In Europe I know that is a 2 disc set, and US? any chance that it could be the same!?

I can't find any way to upgrade my HD3BT (Z2) with 2008 maps without spending +250€!

Only if I had a Z2 I could do the hard drive upgrade, but I have the EU version!

  6. Hi all,

I'm trying to correct this but in bird eye view I can't get the correct position!

I always have 10-15 meters less than in reality while moving, but only in bird eye view!

I have this problem since I removed my unit to install the ipod interface, since then I have this issue!

I tried to correct the position many times in the config menu, but no luck till now to find the correct location!

    Any one have any tips?

    Thanks

  7. Just in case it helps anyone else I just used the USA AVIC-Z2 firmware update on my UK AVIC-HD3 (BT) successfully.

I'm really interested to know more...

You used a new disk drive or what?

Does it updated only firmware and software or even maps!??

    Thanks

  8. Any update for the HD3 (Z2) european version??

I know that pioneer launched the HD3II with 2008/2009 european maps and some new software updates, but I can't find any DVD update on pioneer.eu website! (only updates available for the HD1(Z1)!!!)

  9. After searching and come to an gps coordinate to avic converter, looked on how to use it and it seam that it works well on X1 and X1R units, but tryed on my HD3 and no luck.

I just leave here the info so someone with better knowledge than I in pioneer units, could use this better than I and share it to the community.

    Here is what I get:

We can use POIedit apllication to convert the POI (also tomtom, google, and others) to ASCII format than using an application, created by some spanish guy, convert the ASCII to the pioneer .V01 format.

I don't know if this info is double post but here it is.

An English forum that speaks about it:

    http://www.avicx1forums.com/forum/viewt ... be91ac4634

And the Spanish forum where it all started:

    http://www.forocoches.com/foro/showthre ... t=avic+poi

With the application it allows also to upload other POIs (this was created to upload updated speed radar database, before teleatlas start to sell it as an update...)

I also installed teleatlas radar database and it added one more buttom menu in the MAP menu section. The update consist only in 5-6 files with +-100Mb

I will upload the files if anyone interested.

  10. HD3 is not technically the same as Z2. The version numbers may vary.

Theres any way to confirm if I have the latest versions?

Pioneer EU website sucks comparing to the US site!

I know there is an CNDV-700HD upgrade disc, but I don't know if its the one I have on my unit!

    Any help?

  11. Hi guys,

I was looking on my HD3 (Z2) unit info and for looking on the forum, I already saw some pics with later versions than mine, any new updates for my unit?

Its necessary to do the unlock, whats the benefits, should I do it?!

I only wants to upgrade the maps if possible/available and keep the softare running without flaws...

PS: My unit its an EU model

  12. No one can tell me if the ND-BT1 US and EU model are the same!? :?

I believe they're the same. Page 20 of the HD3 operation manual has a section that states

If you are using a mobile phone featuring Bluetooth technology by connecting the Bluetooth unit (ND-BT1) (sold separately) to the navigation system, you can configure Bluetooth settings or check the outgoing/incoming call history.
That pretty much seals the deal. Plus, since the ND-BT1 manual is in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, and Russian, I more or less believe it's meant to be sold worldwide.

I would think the same, but in Europe, at least where I searched, the ND-BT1 unit its not sold separetly, but only with the HD3 (named HD3BT)

I tried call the pioneer and telling that my unit was damaged to see if they sell new units, and the answer was, "send it to us, it can be repaired"!

I'm trying to buy an ND-BT1 and a mic but I can't find it anywhere in Europe!

Oh well, I will continue the search.

    Thanks

  13. I tryed searching for a comand aps mercedes initial image but no luck!

That initial image I think its the perfect one, and even more from the newer models like w204 etc...

Any clue where to find the image? I'm searching on MB websites, I remember seeing the start up image on a comand picture...
