  1. morus,

Thank you very very very much. Reloading GPS driver on COM7 perfectly works. I ordered GPS receiver a week ago and I was thinking how to remove head-unit from my car, now there is no need. BUT I have a strange problem. When I run head unit with this configuration and try to search bands in radio or try to listen MP3 from USB-memory or SD-card AV.exe continuously stays in 'processing'. May be it is trying to find an application or file (due to it's original navi.exe) but cannot. Did you experience such a case in your head unit? What's your advise to me in that case? Thanks in advance.

  2. manio112, the mrzs seem to use the same AV-connector as the f30bt. So I am pretty sure that they will have the COM1 port available as well since it is used by the pioneer software developers as a debug port (debug output can be turned on with the "POSEIDONDBG ON" method as described by an old post of pionara here in the forum).

Here are instructions to get you going:

Connect the TX pin of the M8N to pin 24 (EXTOC) of the AV connector and the RX pin of the M8N to pin 12 (CTOEX). You can use the "KMODE" connection method for the handbrake signal detection override as described on youtube to make this connection despite missing leads on the AV connector plug. Alternatively, if you don't need any other signals from the AV connector, you can also remove the Plug and use so called "jumper cables" for breadborads to connect to the pins on the AV connector directly. That's how I did it.

GND and VCC for the M8N can be taken from the USB port of the AVIC. Just use a USB Y-adapter cable that are used to power mobile USB harddisk and cut off the secondary USB plug to tap off GND and VCC. GND is usually the black wire and VCC the red one, but I recommend to double check with a multimeter.

I am using a GY-GPSV3 M8N PCB-only module that I ordered from ebay, but you can also find M8N modules for drones that come complete with a housing and wires.

BTW., the method you suggested to get audio working does not seem to work for the f30bt, because as soon as av.exe starts it will occupy the screen. So I do have to start Igo instead of av.exe and can't start it instead of navi.exe. This seems to be also the rootcause for the missing audio, because av.exe seems to be needed in order to initialize the audio path from the codec to the speakers.

    Hi morus,

May be I'm completely on a wrong track but I want to ask a question about GPS antenna. As far as I understand It's current antenna's port is locked by a DLL file so, if we don't want to use it's original navigation application this antenna is useless for us. Is it possible to detach this antenna from it's current connection and connect it as you explain to COM1? My unit came from Japan and it's navigation app. is totally useless for me. Thanks in advance.

  3. I think igo find the gps port but its disconnected bay pioneer software

    Hi manio112,

In one of your previous post, you wrote that you have maps for IGo (and total is 10Gig. so cannot share entire file) can you please send me (or share) the map of Cyprus (must be in East Europe region). Thanks in advance.

  4. Hi Javed,

I took IGO from one of my friend, there is no link for it (also I don't have the files) but I can share 'MapFactor NavigatorFree' .

If you manage to run it in your unit, it is possible to find the maps for all countries (I think). Please inform us about your experiences.

    Here's the link:

You will just copy all files and folders here to your head unit. Good Luck.

  5. when i run the igo on my mrz he cant find the gps but its getting my local time set. i thing navigation get to the right port but its lock by pioneer. wonder if we can get a developer test mode key then will be acces to more options

    Hi manio112,

I copied all files and directories of 'MapFactor NavigatorFree' Windows CE version to my MRZ02's USER\PRG1\APL (My Unit uses PRG1) folder, also changed the executable name 'Navigator.exe' to 'Navi.exe' but no way, it's not working.

I've found a Windows CE version of IGo, I copied all files and rename main executable as 'Navi.exe'. It's working but I have the same problem that device cannot locate GPS (meanwhile time is correct).

    Questions are,

    1. If it cannot locate GPS, where this correct time data comes?

    2. If it is possible to run IGo, why MapFactor cannot be executed (both are Win CE version)?

    Hi Ilnur,

First of all, thanks for the video. Should I remove the GPS antenna from the back-side of the device? In that case I have to remove the device from dashboard. After adjusting time, is it possible to connect GPS antenna back? On the other hand, from the video we can see that UTC Offset is +540 mins. Most probably this value is taken from a file, if we manage to find this file, without removing anything and just by modifying this file problem can be fixed.

Thank you very much for your help Ilnur. May be DZO can help us about finding this file which consists UTC Offset.

I have a MRZ02, I applied all the steps related with language and it worked fine, so thanks a lot. Any idea about changing time zone? Car is imported from Japan and it's current time is UTC+9 but time zone in my country is UTC+2. Is there any file which includes this time zone information? So, may be by altering this data from file it will be possible to change time zone. Any idea or information will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    Hi Ilnur,

Thanks for your reply. I read your old posts and tried menu item 29 from test mode. It gives me a 'FAILED' message. I couldn't find any video and I don't know how to disconnect GPS antenna. May be because of GPS antenna it's not allowing me to change time. How it is possible to access this video? Is it possible to upload it to youtube or a site like youtube. Thank in advance.
