  1. I am SO sick of this BS. Sure the user interface is pretty but the "update" just made things worse. I am the most patient persos ever and I am getting so fed up with the (among other things) dropped ipod, having to push the button 5 times for it to register, and the lacking features that I was used to with my Z2 that they didn't carry over to this unit.

If you want an overall better unit, get the Eclipse AVN 6620, that's what I'm doing.

  2. I'm sure the answer is no, but i'll ask anyway.

I don't need to know 3 times within 1/2 a mile that my turn is coming up. Is there a way to change this "help" to come on at 1/2 a mile then maybe 1000ft?

1/2 mile, 1/4 mile, and 400 ft gets old.

  3. this has already been covered, but since i'm a nice guy, i'll tell you from my Z-series experience what worked for me.

here's the link to the other thread that you would've found if you would've searched.

I had a Z2 and it was notorious for mic problems. A few things that helped up in the Z-series forums were:

    1) when pairing the phone, make sure the volume on the phone is turned less than 1/2 way

    2) set your output to come from the left side only

    3) dont turn the output for the voice very high, it can ricochet off the other door and into the mic, causing an echo for the caller on the other end.

Try these things and if they dont work, dig around the Z-series forums. Alot of solutions were found and there's plenty of info there.

I have my mic placed at the top of the A-pillar and have no problems at all with my F90BT.

  4. My clock issues have now expanded to include an 11 hour difference that is not correctable to the correct time. Nice! So at night, my map is in the day mode, and during the day, it's in the night mode. And my clock is 1 hour off on the display. Turning off auto-correction and trying to manually adjust the time doesn't work (it won't let me go far enough in either direction to get it to the correct time).

    Wow. Just wow.

    Dave

x2, in the morning its correct, by 12 in the afternoon its at least 1 hour off. This update cant come soon enough.

  6. I've noticed a couple times my screen goes from my current location., starts zooming out, and never stops until i see the whole earth, then my screen is all black. I can hit the current location info button and it stills shows what it should. The first time it happened it was in outer space for 2-3 minutes, then it zoomed right back into where it should be.

I've tried playing with smart zoom and it still does it. It usually goes back to normal when i start it up again.

    Anyone else had this happen?

  7. I have a Z2 and it was notorious for mic problems. A few things that helped up in the Z-series forums were:

    1) when pairing the phone, make sure the volume is turned less than 1/2 way on the phone

    2) set your output to come from the left side only

    3) dont turn the output for the voice very high, it can ricochet off the other door and into the mic, causing an echo for the caller on the other end.

Try these things and if they dont work, dig around the Z-series forums. Alot of things were tried and there's plenty of info there.

  9. I went from a Z2 to an F90BT, and I also feel I downgraded. One big killer for me is split view screens, i had overview and 3d view at the same time on my Z2, for some reason its not available on this unit.

Another thing I hate was already mentioned, the dimming set for a certain time instead of the headlight switch.

And yet another...the estimated time/mileage to you destination is smaller than hell and you cant read it.

Overall the F90BT is an OK unit. The ipod controls alone is about 50% of the reason the unit is still in my car. The screen resolution is awesome, but....that's about it.

I'm waiting to see if the firmware/software update makes the F-series easier to operate, otherwise the Z2 is going back in.
